Week 12 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em WR analysis from FlurrySports includes the likes of Jameson Williams of the Detroit Lions.
Last week was a tough one. Was it the weather, or was it the fact that nearly half of the teams playing saw their backup quarterback take the field, while several starters played like backups themselves? Who knows. All I know is that Ja’Marr Chase is a liar, and we now have to go back and fact-check everything he has ever said. As a result, he is suspended this week, which could make your starting lineup a bit of a mess!
In this weekly Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em article, we will be talking about the WR2/3 grey area, where you may have some tough decisions that will need to be made. Players like Puka Nacua and Jaxon Smith-Njigba will not be discussed. Yes, start them. You drafted them early for a reason! Instead, we are more concerned about the low-end WR2 or WR3 area where a player with a solid matchup should return value that is worth the start, and vice versa.
Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out my weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also become a member to join a group chat with me and other members where all fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions are welcomed!

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 12 WRs
Start: Jameson Williams Fantasy Outlook vs Giants
Zach Brunner’s Week 12 Fantasy Football Rankings
The featured “start” in the Week 12 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em is Jameson Williams of the Detroit Lions. If you haven’t heard me talk about this before, you want to start Williams when he plays at Ford Field, where has is typically much more efficient. At home this week, Williams gets a matchup against a Giants defense that allows the eighth-most fantasy points per game to WRs.
The need for Jameson Williams to be involved in this offense has been expressed by Dan Campbell, and it has certainly been evident when watching games. Per my Opportunity Index, Williams has totaled 273 receiving yards over the past three games compared to 289 yards in the previous seven games. On top of that, nine of his 17 red zone targets have come in the past three weeks as well. All of his stats are up with Campbell calling plays, and this trend will continue in Week 12 against a Giants team whose secondary is beat up.
Start: Michael Wilson Fantasy Outlook vs Jaguars
This week, the matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars isn’t one that should scare you. The Jaguars allow the 12th-most fantasy points to WRs, and their corners are a bit banged up, while Travon Walker didn’t practice at all Wednesday. Brissett and the Cardinals’ passing offense have been efficient, and that should continue against Jacksonville here.

Sit: Xavier Worthy Fantasy Outlook vs Colts
The Xavier Worthy fantasy stock has plummeted since the return of Rashee Rice, landing him in the “sit” section of our Week 12 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em. Since the return of Rice, Worthy has totaled more than three receptions just once, and he has under 40 yards in three of his four games as well. He has no touchdowns in this stretch, along with two total carries. In other words, the usage of Xavier Worthy is low.
As a whole, the Indianapolis Colts’ pass defense hasn’t been that scary. Through 11 weeks, they have allowed the 10th-most fantasy points per game to WRs. However, they look much scarier this week. Cornerback Charvarius Ward was designated to return and was a full participant on Wednesday. On top of that, the team just added Sauce Gardner. With Worthy playing two-thirds of his snaps out wide, he will see plenty of Sauce in this game.
All of this together makes Worthy a “sit” in our Week 12 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em. Only play him if you have to.
Sit: Ricky Pearsall Fantasy Outlook vs Panthers
During last week’s Reddit AMA, I answered a bunch of questions surrounding Ricky Pearsall. The biggest thing I said is that I need to see him perform well before he is back in my lineup. While he played a healthy number of snaps, he caught one pass for no gain. With a matchup against Carolina, Pearsall is far from a must-sit player. However, he still needs to earn our trust back.
The Panthers are not a pushover matchup either. Carolina has surrendered the seventh-fewest fantasy points per game to fantasy football WRs. It is easier to run against Carolina than pass, so we should expect a healthy dose of the running game in this one yet again. Not only does that mean fewer passes (thus fewer targets), but Pearsall will be used a bit less since he isn’t exactly the player you want on the field blocking for running plays. You likely have a better option than him this week.
