Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 10 TEs

Start: TJ Hockenson Fantasy Outlook vs Jacksonville Jaguars

TJ Hockenson returned to the Minnesota Vikings lineup last week against the Indianapolis Colts. Hockenson tore his ACL and MCL late last year. He did put up 5.7 points against the Colts defense in his return last week. This week, he should play more snaps and score more with the defense that they are up against.

The Minnesota Vikings will travel south to play the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jacksonville has given up the 10th-most fantasy points to TEs. They have given up double-digit points to the TE position in four of the last five games. The Jaguars defense has been getting exposed by the TEs and that trend should continue this week, so that is a big reason why TJ Hockenson kicks off our Week 1- Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em.

Start: Jonnu Smith Fantasy Outlook vs Los Angeles Rams

Jonnu Smith makes an appearance on the Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em article for Week 10. Smith finally has hit the 60% snap range in the last two weeks, meaning the Miami Dolphins are seeing the good in this guy. He has had six or more targets in the last four games as well. Jonnu Smith is getting more of the target share and, this week, they might need him.

The Los Angeles Rams have given up the seventh-most points to TEs in the NFL through nine weeks. Tucker Kraft dominated them before the bye week and, since the bye, Brock Bowers and backup TE Josh Oliver were able to put up double-digit points against them. Smith can come in clutch for both the Dolphins and your lineup this week.

Sit: Sam LaPorta Fantasy Outlook vs Houston Texans

A guy who has been very surprising so far this year will make his first appearance as a sit. Sam LaPorta was a guy that we said to start last week, but he was a letdown. LaPorta Potty had two catches for 28 yards to the tune of 4.8 fantasy points. He is now the TE18 on the year, below Hunter Henry, Mike Gesicki and Zach Ertz. This week gets tougher for the second-year TE from Iowa due to the matchup.

The Houston Texans have put the clamps on the TEs through their first nine games, allowing the fewest points to TEs in the NFL. The Texans average 6.46 fantasy points to TEs. That includes 3.6 points in the last two games. The Lions have a lot of weapons and have not used LaPorta, so it will be difficult for him to get you some points.

Sit: Pat Freiermuth Fantasy Outlook vs Washington Commanders

Pat Freiermuth will be the other sit for us this week. Freiermuth has been at TE20 this season, below LaPorta and the three names mentioned above. Freiermuth is coming off a bye and, in the last three games before the bye, he had a total of 11.6 fantasy points. Freiermuth has only hit double-digits once this season (against the Indianapolis Colts). He is not one to trust going forward.

On the flip side of the ball is the Washington Commanders. The Commies have given up the 14th-fewest fantasy points to TEs so far this season. The Commanders bolstered their cornerback room with the addition of Marshon Lattimore. The former Saint can cover WRs on his own, so the safeties can help cover other spots of the field. This will not help Freiermuth. Bench the Steelers TE this week.
