Zach Brunner’s fantasy football RB rankings for Week 2 feature Christian McCaffrey!
For the “Zero RB” drafters, you had a tough first week. While many of the top wide receivers struggled, most of the top running backs performed well enough. That doesn’t mean there is a lack of questions, however. Are RBs like Travis Etienne or Javonte Williams fool’s gold? Will Christian McCaffrey be the only 49er to stay off the injury report? While my fantasy RB rankings below won’t answer all of these questions, they will help you set a solid lineup this week.
Below, I have my fantasy football rankings for RB for Week 2. Below those rankings, I also have some insights for some of the players. Fantasy Football Running Back Insights For Week 2
Christian McCaffrey led the league in carries (22) and was second in receptions (9) in Week 1.
Travis Etienne had 16 carries in Week 1, which was more than in any game last season. He faces a Bengals defense that allowed 2.0 yards per carry the first week.
Javonte Williams saw 79% of the Cowboys’ RB carries in Week 1. This week, he faces a Giants defense that allowed 6.9 yards per carry (YPC) last week.
JK Dobbins totaled 16 carries in Week 1. This week, he faces a Colts defense that allowed 6.5 YPC to the Dolphins last week.
In the Week 1 snap counts, Kenneth Walker III saw 21 snaps compared to 30 for Zach Charbonnet. Walker out-touched Charbonnet barely, 13-12. In other words, Walker touched the ball on 62% of his snaps.
Rookie Dylan Sampson saw 20 touches in his NFL debut, with eight being receptions. This week, he is expected to be playing from behind against the Ravens, who allowed James Cook to total five receptions for 58 yards last week.
