Three low-owned fantasy football RB pickups to make for Week 7, including the Los Angeles Chargers’ Kimani Vidal!

Fantasy Football RB Pickups for Week 7
Kimani Vidal, Los Angeles Chargers (55.7%)
It turns out that even the shared Michigan connection between Jim Harbaugh and Hassan Haskins wasn’t enough to ensure that the former Wolverine would lead the shorthanded Chargers backfield. In the absence of Omarion Hampton, Los Angeles was left with Haskins and Kimani Vidal. While this may ultimately prove to be a hot hand approach, Vidal certainly was that guy last week and figures to have the better prospects of being the Chargers’ lead back going forward. The former Troy standout played 67% of the offensive snaps in Week 6, turned 18 carries into 124 yards, and added a receiving touchdown for good measure.
Now, one could argue that Vidal’s output last week might be somewhat misleading, as it came against a horrendous Miami run defense. Surely a more competent Indianapolis Colts outfit will be able to put the clamps on him in Week 7, right? While it’s true that Indy will present a tougher challenge, the Colts only rank 17th in defensive EPA/rush this season. Thus, despite appearing to be a difficult opponent from a rushing yardage and fantasy points standpoint, Indianapolis’ defense would seem to be worse off than the surface may indicate based on more advanced stats.
With all of the injuries befalling high-profile players around the league, Vidal could push for a top-25 ranking in Week 7, easily making him a preferred fantasy football RB pickup choice. If he dominates the workload again, the upside could result in a much better outcome.
Tyler Allgeier, Atlanta Falcons (33.8%)
The ground game is the bread and butter of the Falcons’ offense, and Bijan Robinson is a total stud. However, Tyler Allgeier is also a part of this rushing attack, albeit to a more limited extent. The fourth-year pro has played roughly one-third of Atlanta’s offensive snaps in each of the four games that have produced relevant usage takeaways this season. Allgeier has also had double-digit rushing attempts in each of those four games despite the modest snap counts. While he isn’t more than a low-end FLEX play in lineups at the moment, there are a couple of other factors that make him worth considering among fantasy football RB pickups.
Of course, one obvious piece of value Allgeier has is the fact that he is the insurance policy to arguably the best fantasy football weapon in the year 2025. He may not equate to Robinson in terms of versatility in his skillset. That said, if Robinson were to miss time for any reason, Allgeier would see a major bump in opportunity. The other interesting development is his red zone usage, even with Robinson in the lineup. To date, the two Atlanta RBs have seen an identical 14 carries in the red zone. Allgeier has found the end zone on two attempts down in the red area, and he also broke a longer touchdown run this past week.
Considering his red zone usage rate, Allgeier could very well fall into the end zone against a beleaguered San Francisco 49ers defense on Sunday and thus provide streamer-worthy value. As a long-term stash, his appeal to be rostered is even higher.
More Fantasy Football Streamers Week 7
Tyjae Spears, Tennessee Titans (26.2%)
Something tells me that Tyjae Spears may be a staple of this fantasy football RB pickups column for the next several weeks. Look, I totally get why managers are hesitant to roster any and everyone who has anything to do with the Titans’ offense right now. That said, even the most putrid and dysfunctional of NFL teams are bound to provide worthwhile fantasy production from time to time. Brian Callahan may be gone, but if last week was any indication, Spears could be poised to emerge as one of the few bright spots in Nashville this season.
In just his second game this season after missing the first month with injury, Spears managed to play more snaps (36) than teammate Tony Pollard (26) out of the backfield. While the latter handled the bulk of the carries, it’s clear that the Titans prefer to deploy Spears in passing situations. Speaking of passing situations, there figure to be no shortage of those in Tennessee going forward, as this team will likely be trailing in the vast majority of games. This is perfect for fantasy managers, especially those playing in PPR leagues. With four receptions and 50 total yards last week, Spears delivered a FLEX-caliber stat line.
As for Week 7, it figures to be tough sledding on the ground against a New England Patriots defense that ranks fifth in defensive EPA/rush. That said, the Pats have ceded 230 yards to opposing RBs through the air, so Spears does have a shot to turn in a solid PPR game once again.
