Three fantasy football RB options to stream in NFL Week 14, including Jordan Mason of the Minnesota Vikings.
With the Fantasy Football Playoffs starting next week in most leagues, the urgency to win is greater now than ever. We have officially reached the point in the season where the overarching strategy of managing a fantasy team changes a bit. Gone are the days of stashing projects on your bench in hopes of a breakout. The time to be patient with big names who are struggling is over. The sole focus of managers should be on optimizing their starting lineup from this point forward. Meanwhile, injury insurance, opponent disruption and future-week planning all rise in priority when it comes to bench spots.
Of course, being active on the waiver wire will be crucial for savvy managers to best position themselves for playoff success. Whether you are in need of a streamer or a handcuff insurance policy for your stars, this includes targeting any number of low-owned RB pickups. The following highlights three players, RB pickups and streamers, to consider heading into Week 14. Fantasy Football RB Pickups for Week 14
Jordan Mason, Minnesota Vikings (56.6%)
The win-or-go-home world that is the Fantasy Football Playoffs can oftentimes lead to bucking trends when a player is presented with an opportunity due to injury. That’s precisely the scenario that appears to be shaping up for Jordan Mason in Week 14. Since Aaron Jones returned from a previous injury, Mason has reverted back to his complementary role in the Vikings backfield. He hasn’t played 30% of the team’s offensive snaps in each of the last four games and has finished with no more than eight touches in any of those games.
Due to the diminished playoff time and the overall terrible state of the Minnesota offense, Mason has gone from being widely owned to now being available in nearly 45% of ESPN leagues. With Aaron Jones suffering another shoulder injury in last week’s game, the path to a solid fantasy output could very well be there for Mason in Week 14. Jones is officially considered day-to-day as far as his injury status, but he seems likely to miss this Sunday’s contest with the Vikings clearly out of the playoff picture in this lost season.
Turning to the matchup itself, Mason gets a pretty solid one against a Washington Commanders defense that ranks 25th in defensive EPA/play against the run. Opponents have averaged over 133 yards rushing against this defense on the year. From a fantasy scoring standpoint, the Redskins…errrr…Football Team…errrr…Commanders have given up 25.39 PPR points per game to opposing RBs, the third-most of any team. With the Vikings’ quarterback play being so awful, riding Mason heavily on the ground could and should be a key part of this week’s offensive game plan in a positive matchup.
Chris Rodriguez Jr., Washington Commanders (23.2%)
We are keeping our focus on Sunday’s game in Minneapolis for our second low-owned fantasy football RB pickups recommendation. At this juncture, there is no disputing that Chris Rodriguez is the lead ball-carrier for the Commanders. The Jacory Croskey-Merritt experiment was not impressive at least in the year 2025. This past week, Rodriguez played 37 snaps compared to just 13 for Croskey-Merritt and led the Commanders with 11 carries. This marked the third time in the last four games that Rodriguez has had double-digit rushing attempts and the same is true of him finding the end zone.
Going based off this recent trend, one can basically make an argument that a team’s top running back is available in over 75% of leagues just one week out from the start of the fantasy playoffs. With regard to Rodriguez’s Week 14 streaming outlook, the Vikings are a very average defense in terms of run EPA and fantasy points allowed to opposing RBs. However, his knack for finding the end zone could lead to another FLEX-worthy performance this week.
Where things get a bit more interesting for fantasy managers is next week when the Commanders face the New York Giants. Matchup-wise, it doesn’t get much better. The Giants rank dead-last in EPA/play against the run defensively and have allowed the second-most PPR points per game to the position. With this in mind, Rodriguez could be a major factor in Week 15 fantasy playoff matchups. His fantasy football RB pickups case is thus twofold as he checks the box as a worthwhile streamer this week and has an even better outlook in the future.
More Fantasy Football Streamers Week 14
Blake Corum, Los Angeles Rams (17.3%)
When it comes to bench construction of fantasy football playoff rosters, prioritizing high-upside RB handcuffs is a crucial part of the strategy. As we head into Week 14, one player who fits this bill is Blake Corum. The second-year pro out of Michigan has continued to show flashes of his upside while working as the clear second back in a rotational role for the Rams this season. However, he could be in line for an uptick in usage in the short-term as lead back Kyren Williams picked up an ankle injury in last week’s game.
To be clear, Williams is not expected to miss this week’s game due to the injury. However, the occurrence could result in the Rams taking a more cautious approach with their star RB in the short term. Over the course of the season, Corum has received the bulk of his playing time and opportunities with the Rams comfortably ahead on the scoreboard. In an effort to ensure that Williams is healthy for when the team needs him most, might we see a bit more of a rotation emerge in Week 14? It seems quite possible.
Regarding this week’s matchup, the Rams will be up against an Arizona Cardinals defense that has given up nearly 24 PPR points per game to opposing RBs. If Los Angeles allots Corum double-digit carries, there’s a real chance he could make his presence felt on the fantasy front this week. Corum remains a risky streamers candidate for the moment, but the urgency to roster him based on his value as an RB handcuff is sky high heading into the fantasy playoffs.
