Fantasy football RB pickups to make and stream in Week 10 include Devin Singletary of the New York Giants.

Only five weeks remain before the start of the fantasy football playoffs! As we continue to navigate bye weeks and injuries, low-owned fantasy football RB pickups and streamers remain in high demand. The only problem is that there aren’t a ton of surefire options on the waiver wire heading into Week 10. Although the backfield outlook for many of the top candidates is a bit cloudy, there is the potential for fantasy managers to uncover some real upside. This column has a little bit of everything, from players who could be a spot start this week to worthy roster stashes for the weeks to come.

Note: Players must be owned in less than 60% of ESPN leagues to be included in the fantasy football RB streamers column.

Fantasy Football RB Pickups for Week 10

Devin Singletary, New York Giants (17.4%)

In the wake of Cam Skattebo’s season-ending injury, Tyrone Tracy was the hot name amongst fantasy football RB pickups heading into Week 9. Naturally, the Giants had other ideas, as Devin Singletary out-snapped his backfield cohort 32-25 in the game. While it is worth noting that Tracy picked up an injury in the second half of the game, Singletary did have a two-touch advantage in the first half of the game as well. He also played all of the Giants’ red zone snaps spanning three different possessions.

Needless to say, the workload split we saw this past week was a completely different scene than the week prior following Skattebo’s injury in which Tracy was clearly the guy. Turning the page to Week 10, there could be a real opportunity for Singletary to lead the way for the Giants out of the backfield once again. Tracy does not carry an injury designation at the time of writing, but his status will be worth monitoring throughout the week of practice. If there are any reports that he could be limited if active, Singletary will be primed for a lead role.

Devin Singletary played over Tyrone Tracy Jr in Week 9

– Singletary: 55% snaps, 8 carries, 16 routes, 2 targets (51 yds)
– Tracy: 45% snaps, 5 carries, 14 routes, 4 targets (37 yds)

As for the Giants’ Week 10 matchup, it comes against a Chicago Bears defense that has looked very beatable at times this season. As far as EPA/play is concerned, the Bears have been better against the run than the pass. However, opposing RBs have been able to find running lanes against this unit with Chicago ranking 25th in rushing yards allowed per game at 131.1. While all of this makes Singletary a solid fantasy football streamers play in Week 10, his relevance figures to extend beyond one game, and he is worth a general add to see how this backfield shakes out moving forward.

Bam Knight (51.3%), Trey Benson (49.5%) & Emari Demercado (8.4%), Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals’ backfield offers us a little two-for-one special with regard to fantasy football RB pickups this week. Typically, when two players are possible adds in the same backfield, that’s not a great scenario. That is essentially where we find ourselves with regard to Arizona’s situation. However, depending on the size of your league and current ownerships, either player is worth a shot as a possible streamers candidate in Week 10.

In the aftermath of the Cardinals losing their top two RBs to injuries, this backfield has been a week-to-week crapshoot. First, it was Michael Carter who got to lead the way. Then, it was Knight who garnered double-digit carries in the two weeks thereafter. Coming off the bye, it was Demercado’s turn to lead the way with 14 carries compared to nine for Knight. The latter notably played 57% of the team’s offensive snaps this past Monday compared to 40% for Demercado. Knight also ran more routes and got the lone carry deep in the red zone for Arizona in Week 9.

Of the two backs, Knight still feels like the preferred streamer in Week 10 when Arizona faces off with the Seattle Seahawks. Given how stout Seattle’s defense is up front, the fact that Knight served as the Cardinals’ primary RB on passing downs last week is a key data point. That being said, managers who are desperate at the position could turn to Demercado given that he did appear to take control of the early-down work last week coming out of the bye. While this backfield is clearly going to remain split, there is a chance for both players to deliver stream-worthy production.

To conclude our Cardinals’ backfield discussion, let’s not forget that Trey Benson is expected to be back in the next couple of weeks for the Cardinals. When he returns, he is expected to resume his role as THE guy to own. His ownership has dipped during his IR stint, so managers with an extra bench spot to burn would be wise to get out in front of his return.

Isaiah Davis, New York Jets (10.0%)

The Jets were certainly active as sellers at the trade deadline, but Breece Hall was not among the players who managed to escape. Thus, he is expected to remain the workhorse RB for New York so long as he is healthy this season. Although one of the big rationales for rostering Isaiah Davis in recent weeks was the possibility of Hall being traded, he is still worthy of consideration among low-owned fantasy football RB pickups despite a deal not coming to fruition.

Assuming Hall remains in good health, Davis will likely continue to operate in a complementary role as he has in the team’s recent games. That role has actually been enough to earn him at least 40% of the snaps and four targets in the passing game in three of the last four games. Davis also got a season-high seven carries in Week 8 to go along with five receptions and finished with 109 total yards. Similar workloads could be in store if the Jets opt to take the approach of not overloading Hall in what is clearly a lost season. A Week 10 matchup against the Cleveland Browns could play right into the hands of Davis as a receiving back as well.

Of course, New York could also opt to lean heavily on Hall in the short-term, thus capping Davis’ usage and opportunities in the short-term. If that approach happens, Davis still has value as a fantasy addition in the form of a handcuff. Keep in mind that Braelon Allen is almost certainly done for the season due to injury. Behind Davis, Khalil Herbert is the only other RB on the Jets’ roster with any sort of pedigree at the NFL level. Regardless of how the Jets divvy up the workload in the immediate future, a Hall injury would only boost Davis’ outlook further down the stretch.
