The NASCAR Cup Series visits the midwest this weekend. Kansas Speedway will play host to the Hollywood Casino 400. Last week’s race at Texas has put several championship contenders in difficult situations heading into Sunday afternoon’s race. The NASCAR Playoffs will change the way that some drivers race and will dictate certain strategies this weekend. Read on for some winning FanDuel NASCAR DFS advice and picks for this week’s racing action at Kansas.

FanDuel NASCAR DFS Overview

In this NASCAR Cup Series DFS column, we will be using FanDuel prices and scoring. Their scoring includes the following:

  • .1 points for leading a lap
  • .1 points for completing a lap
  • Add/subtract 0.5 points based on the difference in a driver’s finishing position relative to their starting position
  • Points based on where the driver finishes

Hollywood Casino 400 Drivers to Consider

Kyle Busch ($13,000)

Kyle Busch, the winner of the spring Kansas race, is a great pick for this week. He is in a good points position (+8 above the playoff cutline), so he won’t have to reach for points. Busch has been streaky in the playoffs as he barely made it out of the Round of 16. The Round of 12 was also a bit sketchy until Kevin Harvick’s wreck at the Charlotte ROVAL shook things up. Busch could very well get the win and sweep both NASCAR Cup Series races at the track this week.

Martin Truex Jr. ($10,500)

Martin Truex Jr. needs to rebound from a wreck that happened last week if he hopes to contend for a championship at Phoenix. He is behind the eight ball, or, in this case, the cutline by 22 points. While it isn’t really a must-win scenario just yet, Truex sure is making it out to be. The No. 19 team is going to push for it all at a track where he has been strong in the past with two wins. Truex is a solid pick for your NASCAR DFS lineups.

Joey Logano ($9,800)

The No. 22 team is in desperation mode coming into Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400. Joey Logano is even further behind the standings cutline than Truex at 43 points back. He may very well have to win in order to move into the Championship 4. Why can’t he do it at the same track where he clinched his spot in the final four last year? Logano has been in this kind of must-win scenario before, and you will want him in your FanDuel NASCAR DFS lineup if he gets it done again on Sunday.

Daniel Suarez ($7,000)

The value play for this week’s race is Daniel Suarez. The No. 99 team had a good race at Kansas Speedway in the spring as he gained ten spots on his way to finishing 11th. Suarez will start 16th on Sunday, and the price that he has is pretty intriguing. Suarez will be the guy you want to pair with three other high-priced drivers in your NASCAR DFS lineups this week.

Hollywood Casino 400 Drivers to Avoid

William Byron ($11,500)

William Byron has been great for most of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season including last week with his runner-up finish. That said, an average finish of 18th in his seven previous starts at Kansas is not great. He won’t get the best equipment this Sunday either as he is not the driver that Hendrick Motorsports is trying to push into the Championship 4. Byron should be left out of NASCAR DFS lineups for this week.

Ryan Newman ($5,500)

This call is purely based on Ryan Newman’s last ten races at Kansas Speedway. Look, “Rocketman” is just terrible here, even if there is no clear reason as to why. An average finish of just 26th at the track is not even close to what you want out of a driver in your FanDuel NASCAR DFS lineup. Well, if you want the best chance at winning money that is. Newman should stay FAR away from any competent lineups this week.

Matt DiBenedetto ($8,000)

I have been saying all year that Matt DiBenedetto is trying his hardest to get Wood Brothers Racing its 100th win. Sadly, that hope is all but gone. DiBenedetto has a bad reputation at Kansas as well. He has an average finish of just 23rd in his last ten races here. He is also getting the worst end of the Penske equipment as they still have all three of their cars alive in the NASCAR Playoffs. Sit Matty D in your FanDuel NASCAR DFS lineups this week.

Christopher Bell ($8,800)

The No. 20 car is in the same boat as the previous two drivers. Christopher Bell is no longer in the hunt for a NASCAR Championship, but his three teammates all are. Bell is not going to get the best of the Joe Gibbs Racing equipment and his stats at Kansas are worse than many under-funded drivers as well. Bell has an average finish of just 20.3 in his three previous Cup Series starts here. While it’s not a big sample size, it is still wise to steer clear of him this week in the Hollywood Casino 400.
