Industry experts give their advice on which highly owned fantasy football players are droppable, if you are in need of a roster spot! Calvin Ridley fantasy owners, listen up!

We have officially entered the part of the NFL fantasy season when you have to deal with players on bye. This week, we have four teams. Combined with the injuries that continue to pop up, it can be tough to put together a starting lineup. So, in order to pick up some of these players on the waiver wire whose values have increased, you must make the tough decision on who is worth dropping.

Below, several industry experts weigh in on which highly owned fantasy football players can be dropped if you are in need of a roster spot. None of these players are must-drop players, but if you do have to cut them from your squad, you shouldn’t lose any sleep over that decision. All of the players included must be owned in at least 75% of ESPN Fantasy leagues.

Drop These Players Before Fantasy Football Week 5 | Fantasy Experts Sound Off

If you want to be featured in our next expert’s fantasy football article, click here to full out the form!

Geoff Lambert (GoingFor2) — Travis Hunter, WR, Jaguars (78% rostered)

After a promising Week 1, Travis Hunter has become nothing more than a rotational player on offense. The last two weeks, he’s played fewer than 60% of offensive snaps, and even when he is on offense, Trevor Lawrence isn’t looking his way. After getting 14 targets in his first two games, he has only seven over his last two. Unless you’re playing in an IDP league, it’s time to move on from Hunter.

Zach Brunner (FlurrySports) — Calvin Ridley, WR, Titans (76% rostered)

After the hype surrounding the Cam Ward-Calvin Ridley connection this offseason, both have been terrible. So, maybe their connection is still strong? Regardless, Ridley could be out this week with a bruised ego, or supposedly, knee and elbow injuries. On top of that, the passing attack for Tennessee has not been fruitful, and Ridley has mustered up just 10 catches. Calvin Ridley fantasy owners can pray for a trade to a team like the Steelers, or they could straight-up drop him.

Chris Chous (Cover 1 Fantasy Football) — Calvin Ridley, WR, Titans (76% rostered)

With potential screaming upside this offseason, Calvin Ridley has yet to find any chemistry with rookie Cam Ward. At this point, he has become a massive liability and is not worth rostering, especially with all the injuries around the league. Cut bait and move on!

Trevor Land (FlurrySports) — Isiah Pacheco, RB, Chiefs (80% rostered)

Isiah Pacheco can be dropped in most leagues. In four games this season, he is averaging just eight carries and has scored just one touchdown. It’s clear this backfield is a committee. Unless everyone in this backfield gets injured, there’s no reason to believe Pacheco will be a workhorse of any kind this season.

Luke Reimer (FlurrySports) — Matthew Golden, WR, Packers (77% rostered)

Owned in 77% of leagues, Matthew Golden is certainly droppable if you need an instant impact at your receiver position. Even with injuries to Jayden Reed and Christian Watson, Golden’s role with the Packers’ offense is so inconsistent that you are never going to confidently start him. The Packers want to run the ball, and with a banged-up offensive line, it is hard to think Jordan Love has enough time to let Golden’s routes develop deep. Green Bay hung 40 on Dallas, and Golden was sparingly used. He is a good player, but has a limited role in a very crowded receiving room.
