Easiest QB Fantasy Football Strength of Schedules | Fantasy Football Playoffs
1) JJ McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings
Playoff Schedule: vs Commanders, @ Cowboys, @ Giants, vs Lions
It seems like everyone has piled on JJ McCarthy after what has been an uninspiring rookie season. Come playoff time, though, that could very well change. From Weeks 14 through 17 this season, the best defense against quarterbacks McCarthy plays is the Detroit Lions, who rank 22nd. As for the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and Washington Commanders, those teams rank dead last, 29th and 30th against fantasy quarterbacks this season. For as bad as the Vikings have looked at times this season, they had a better point differential than the Jaguars and the Bears through eight games, and both of those teams are viewed as fringe playoff teams. Although he isn’t the flashiest option for your fantasy playoffs, McCarthy has a prime opportunity to go off when he’s needed most.
2) Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins
Playoff Schedule: @ Jets, @ Steelers, vs Bengals, vs Buccaneers
If your championship game is set in Week 17, you may need to make sure you have a backup for when Tua Tagovailoa faces the 13th-ranked Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense. In the three previous weeks, though, Tua may give some value that not many are recognizing. In those three weeks, the Miami Dolphins will face off against the 23rd, 28th, and 31st-ranked defenses against fantasy quarterbacks. It is very fair to be skeptical of not only Tua but this Dolphins team as a whole, but keeping their fantasy football strength of schedule in mind, it’s hard to believe there are many worse options at quarterback during the fantasy playoffs that you can get right now for a fairly cheap price.
3) Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts
Playoff Schedule: @ Jaguars, @ Seahawks, vs 49ers, vs Jaguars
Of the four teams that Daniel Jones will face during most fantasy playoffs, the best-ranked defense against quarterbacks in fantasy is the Seattle Seahawks, who rank 15th. Although the San Francisco 49ers are close behind them at 20th, Jones has the luck of facing off against the 27th-ranked defense twice in the Jacksonville Jaguars. While you may be worried about Jonathan Taylor simply running all over the Jaguars, the Jags’ defense ranks 10th against fantasy running backs. That isn’t to say that Taylor won’t find success on the ground, but that does point to the fact that the Colts will need to pass the ball in both games, and Jones will likely find plenty of success in that area.
4) Justin Fields, New York Jets
Playoff Schedule: vs Dolphins, @ Jaguars, @ Saints, vs Patriots
Much like with Tua, if your fantasy championship is in Week 17, you may want to find a replacement for Justin Fields. However, in the short term, Justin Fields has a tantalizing fantasy football strength of schedule in the playoffs. In Weeks 14-16, the best defense he faces is the New Orleans Saints, who rank 21st against quarterbacks. It’s also important to remember that with the game being played on turf in New Orleans, and everybody playing faster on turf, Fields could see an elevated rushing total. As for the two weeks prior, Fields faces the Dolphins and Jaguars, who rank 25th and 27th, respectively, against fantasy quarterbacks. Much like Tua and McCarthy, Fields also provides an option that can likely be picked up for the playoffs at a relatively cheap price as well.
5) Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
Playoff Schedule: vs Cowboys, @ Rams, vs Steelers, @ Vikings
In Weeks 13-17 this season, Jared Goff will go up against two of the five worst defenses in the league against fantasy quarterbacks in the Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers. While the Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Rams have much better defenses, they are ranked 16th and fifth against fantasy quarterbacks, respectively. The Rams will certainly be the hardest of the bunch, but Goff’s weapons, along with the Lions’ need to put up points against a solid Rams offense, will give him plenty of value in a tough matchup.
