Devonte Wyatt Draft Profile
Strengths
Devonte Wyatt was made to disrupt plays at the line of scrimmage. His 6-3, 315-pound frame surprisingly translates to a quick lineman sliding along the line of scrimmage, beating zone blocks and making big plays. He has average strength, but his 2021 season showed an improvement both against the run and pass rush. His work ethic and willingness to improve will be a deciding factor for teams considering him.
Weaknesses
Wyatt is a force to be reckoned with when he makes the right decision, but his lack of length will likely hurt him in the NFL. He will struggle to beat opposing linemen unless he develops more explosiveness to allow him to propel himself past blocks. Once he finds his footing and finds his go-to moves to win those quick-rush battles, he’ll fit right into a scheme that rotates their defensive lineman regularly.
