The San Francisco 49ers have been dominant all season long. After exiting last postseason in the NFC Championship due to a multitude of injuries, the Niners knew they just needed to get to this season’s NFC Championship game healthy and they would be favorites. While they are relatively healthy, fans of the team have been waiting for a Deebo Samuel injury update, after he exited last week’s game early due to a shoulder injury.

Earlier in the week, fans and beat reporters cited Samuel running without limitations being good news. Again, he has a shoulder injury, so this didn’t make much sense, but I digress. Just in time for the weekend, we received a positive Deebo Samuel injury update which head coach Kyle Shanahan is calling “huge” news.

Deebo Samuel Injury Update For NFC Championship

Shanahan noted the situation surrounding Samuel earlier in the week was “a little scary.” However, the positive Deebo Samuel injury update from his head coach is that he has zero restrictions on him, meaning he will be a full go for the NFC Championship.

We have seen Brock Purdy struggle when he doesn’t have his full array of weapons at his disposal, especially when Samuel isn’t out there. We saw this as recently as last week when the Green Bay Packers were essentially a kick away from pulling off the upset.

On the Pat McAfee Show, George Kittle said he thought Samuel was going to have three touchdowns in the game since so much of the offense was schemed around him. After losing the versatile offensive weapon early in the game, it took some time for San Francisco to find their footing.

Now, with Deebo Samuel ready to place in the NFC Championship game against the Detroit Lions, will Shanahan be able to unleash some of last week’s plan? Will Samuel be effective in the game, or will CJ Gardner-Johnson get the better of him as he said he would do?
