The first game of the NFL season is in the books, with the Detroit Lions upsetting the Kansas City Chiefs on banner night, 21-20. While it felt like the Chiefs lost the game versus the Lions actually winning it, there were some strong performances on Detroit’s side. What is David Montgomery’s Fantasy Value Moving Forward?
Due to his ability to finish runs, it was wild that sportsbooks had his rushing touchdowns for the year set at 6.5. Hell, Jamaal Williams ran for 17 last year, and Montgomery came in to take over that role! Hopefully, you bet the over like I did.
As for fantasy football, what you saw against the Chiefs should be pretty typical. He has a high probability of scoring touchdowns, and Montgomery should pick up plenty of rushing yards. Look for the Lions to use him as a receiver a bit more as well.
