The 2026 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 23, beginning at 8 p.m. ET. The draft will take place in Pittsburgh, PA. It is a football city that will provide a great backdrop for the draft festivities, but everyone is crossing their fingers that the weather cooperates. Only Round 1 will take place on Thursday. Rounds 2-3 will take place on April 24th, with the remaining four rounds wrapping up on Sunday, April 25th. There will be 257 players selected across the seven rounds, with many more getting phone calls immediately afterward.

Strengths
Immediately, David Bailey will be a tough assignment to draw. His quick-twitch and explosiveness are rare, making it very tough to stay in front of him. He is able to gain speed throughout the play and on the edge. Combined with a great bend on the edge, he is able to live in the backfield.
Bailey has good instincts getting after the ball, and he avoids contact and gets around blockers in run defense. Simply, he looks very comfortable in the field, showcasing that he was born to be an edge rusher at a high level.
Weaknesses
Yes, Bailey avoids contact well in run defense, but this approach will lead to him getting overwhelmed when he is either out of position or engaged with a blocker. And while his instincts getting after the ball are rather good, he does get fooled. If it’s a trick play, misdirection, or a screen, he will take the path of least resistance, falling into the offense’s trap.
