D.J. Moore fantasy football owners were let down last week after he failed to live up to the top-15 WR value where he was drafted. He totaled just three receptions for 46 yards on six targets. Moore finished as the WR58 for fantasy football Week 1, behind teammate Robbie Anderson. Is this a “Week 1 Overreaction” or is this a sign of more things to come this Sunday against the New York Giants?

D.J. Moore Fantasy Football Outlook For Week 2

Let’s start off on how D.J. Moore has been in the past games, dating back to the 2021 season. He has now gone seven straight games of scoring no touchdowns and six straight games of being held under 90 receiving yards. As alluded to, Moore only had six targets last week, which made it his lowest-targeted game since Week 9 of 2020. Although, it is hard to get chemistry going when Baker Mayfield is the fourth different QB that D.J. Moore had since last season.

On the Giants’ side of things, they held the Titans’ WRs last week to a total of 12 receptions for 169 yards and no touchdowns. The Giants defense has also been tough on WRs, as they allowed the 12th-fewest WR fantasy points in the 2021 season. In Week 1’s performance, they are allowed the 11th-fewest WR fantasy points. It’s not just that, the last time the Giants even allowed a 100-yard WR was in Week 6 of 2021, which was Cooper Kupp.

Should I Start D.J. Moore in Fantasy Football Week 2?

The D.J. Moore fantasy football trends are not positive, so it may be time to fade the Carolina Panthers WR. He needs a consistent quarterback who trusts him. Baker Mayfield might be that guy, but let’s wait for him to get this chemistry going. When that gets going, and D.J. Moore is trustworthy, he can finally live up to his top-15 WR fantasy football ADP that you drafted him for.
