With the 2021 NFL Draft being less than two weeks away, the Dallas Cowboys still have plenty going on. Here is your Dallas Cowboys weekly news recap and some of the highlights that happened around Cowboys Nation.

News of Aldon Smith’s Departure

On Thursday, news reports on Twitter said that that DE Aldon Smith will be packing his bags and heading to Seattle. Smith, only having spent one season with the Cowboys, is reportedly heading to the Seahawks on a one-year deal.

This move didn’t come as a surprise. In fact, ESPN reported that Smith was told in late March that he would not be playing with Dallas next season.

Keanu Neal Signed, Sealed, Delivered

We have reported on Dallas’ multiple signings during free agency, most adding depth to Dan Quinn’s defense, with familiar faces he’s known from past coaching stops.

Former Falcons safety Keanu Neal made things officially official with the Cowboys on Wednesday. This one-year deal is worth up to $5 million for Neal. Mike McCarthy confirmed last month that Neal will be starting off the season at the linebacker position.

Cowboys Draft Targets and Analysis

With the 2021 NFL Draft being a little over a week away, there is still plenty of speculation who Jerry Jones will pick for that lucky number 10 pick.

Although reports circulated earlier that TE Kyle Pitts has spoken to Jones, it still remains a big question mark if he will land in Dallas.

We have reported on the Cowboys Draft needs by tiers, and it looks like drafting a TE might not be the best move Jones could make with that number 10 pick.

Cowboys Announce Draft Event at The Star

Speaking of the NFL Draft, the Cowboys finally broke their silence on what their plans look like for fans. It looks as if draft festivities will be semi-normal for Dallas, as they are planning for a COVID-safe event at The Star on draft day.

Plenty of COVID-safe precautions will be required for attendees, including the requirement to wear a mask. According to The Star’s website, 250 COVID vaccines will be available for some attendees as well.

Dak Spotted Helping Future Football Players

And last but not least on your Dallas Cowboys weekly news recap, here is a heartwarming moment from the week. One thing we do know going into the 2021 season is that Dak Prescott is ready to rejoin the offense, and hasn’t been wasting any time during the offseason.

In fact, Dak is not only spending his offseason putting in work to help himself but to help others as well. The starting Cowboys QB was spotted at Kenny Shaws’ R.A.W Camp in Orlando, Florida.

Dak was one of many guest QB coaches that helped teach youth players necessary skills for different positions. The age range for this camp was from first to 12th grade.
