As we enter Week 8 of the NFL season, it’s time to get down to business. Like most other years, one of the tougher positions to get a grasp on is tight end. Although he’s been quiet for most of the season, now is the time to cash in and buy low on Colston Loveland.

Colston Loveland fantasy football owners have certainly not expected his lack of production to this point in the season with the amount of draft capital they spent on him. However, now is the best time to buy low on the Chicago Bears’ tight end and solidify the position on your team.

On the FlurrySports Playbook, we have everything your league doesn’t want you to have. Our fantasy rankings, the NFL Survivor tool, a weather app and hundreds of NFL team stats are all free. However, we also have our fantasy football trade value chart, waiver rankings, exclusive stats and more for those who want more information. Simply, we wanted a one-stop shop to help you win on your NFL and college football picks this season!

Buy Low on Colston Loveland | Fantasy Football Trade Value Week 8

Despite Poor Start, Loveland’s Schedule Gives Reason for Optimism

It’s hard to produce much when you have tough matchups week in and week out, and are missing your starting quarterback. That’s been the story of the start of the season for Loveland. He combined for .8 points in the first two weeks of the season and has just now started to somewhat produce. With the return of Caleb Williams, he has racked up 19 targets over the last two games. While normally that would lead to a player being on the “sell high” portion of our site, Loveland is a different story.

Unlike most players, Loveland’s target share often has nothing to do with his fantasy output. Week 4 was a perfect example for Loveland. In a game where he had nine targets, he was held to under nine points in half-PPR formats. In seven starts, he still has yet to eclipse 70 receiving yards even with his newfound target share.

Loveland’s Yardage Can Only Go Up

Everybody loves touchdowns. They’re the easiest way to rack up points in a hurry. Unfortunately, it’s hard to consistently find the end zone in the NFL. Loveland has looked great for fantasy the last two weeks but everybody knows those performances are heavily boosted by two touchdowns and you better believe his owners know that too.

For what Loveland lacks in team targets inside the five, sitting at just over six percent according to our Paydirt tool, he makes up for in other areas. He is tied for fifth in end zone targets while also ranking fourth amongst tight ends with 13.2% of his team’s opening drive targets. It’s clear that head coach Ben Johnson likes to get him involved and his weekly floor should continue to rise. With more targets, come more receptions and more yards. His inability to break the 70 receiving yard threshold should be able to be consistently broken from week-to-week.

What is the Colston Loveland Fantasy Trade Value?

While he’s started to make up ground after a disappointing start, Colston Loveland still won’t be trusted by most of his owners. With a great schedule ahead and a solid floor of targets for the rest of the season, there is no reason to not buy in on Loveland.

According to the FlurrySports Fantasy Football Trade Value Tool, Colston Loveland has a value of 12.3. That puts him ninth amongst tight ends and just above players like Kyle Pitts (9.4), Dalton Kincaid (9.4) and Harold Fannin Jr. (7.4). Check out his updated trade value on the FlurrySports Playbook!

For those looking to trade for Loveland, it would make sense to both trade “down” or “up” for him. Tucker Kraft and Tyler Warren are just above Colston Loveland, yet have the 18th and 24th-ranked schedules for tight ends respectively. You could easily trade Kraft or Warren for Loveland and a key FLEX piece such as Rachaad White or Makai Lemon.

In the scenario where you want to trade “up” for him, you could easily package Kyle Pitts and a FLEX piece like Romeo Doubs or Rico Dowdle. It’s likely that the Colston Loveland owner is looking to get more consistency and depth in a lineup that is probably pretty weak given Loveland’s high draft capital this year.

Making a move for a player like in fantasy football is a big move, so you need to refer to the FlurrySports Fantasy Football Trade Value tool to best understand what his and what other players’ values are. Play around with the tool and make sure that you are not giving up too much for Loveland, as right now is the best time to buy him in fantasy football.
