This college football season was the biggest we have seen, and one of the most well-known running backs in the country surprisingly played for the Arizona State Sun Devils. Helping the Sun Devils exceed expectations, Cam Skattebo has been on top of the world. That is until recently. Now, Cam Skattebo is getting sued.

Yes, you read that correctly! One of the best running backs in the 2025 NFL Draft is now facing some legal issues when he should be focusing on his upcoming Pro Day. Let’s take a closer look at why Cam Skattebo is getting sued by an ex-teammate.

Cam Skattebo Sued by Arizona State Football Teammate

Earlier this week, a lawsuit from Mattheos Katergaris surfaced. Katergaris, a former teammate of Skattebo with Arizona State, is seeking $300,000 in damages stemming from negligence resulting in an injury.

He alleges that Skattebo jumped up and down onto the back of a golf cart that Katergaris was riding in. Apparently, this caused the golf cart to collapse, causing an elbow injury that he has yet to recover from. This alleged event took place in July 2023. Katergaris ruptured an elbow tendon which required surgery.

Skattebo is being sued for one count of negligence resulting in injury. Katergaris never played football again and he is allegedly still in pain. Given the state of college football where college athletes can get paid, not being able to continue playing for a college like Arizona State does lead to a massive loss of potential income.

It’s important to note that Katergaris was a walk-on offensive lineman for the Sun Devils. More likely than not, he spent more time laying on the field with a hurt elbow than he would’ve spent playing on the field.

Still, if his elbow is still in pain, and it’s not his ego that was hurt, then he is likely to get a nice payment to make this go away.

Katergaris says he was unable to deliver the legal paperwork and this is a “last resort.” His attorney states, “I have reason to believe he was in Florida preparing for the combine and then I know he was in Indy… Maybe he’s bouncing around hotels. I just don’t know, so I was done chasing him.”

This appears to be an obvious money grab, and this attorney is an obvious doofus for saying Skattebo is bouncing around hotels in order to avoid this ridiculous lawsuit.

    Cam Skattebo With Arizona State

We saw Cam Skattebo enjoy an incredible season with the Sun Devils. Skattebo ran for 1,711 yards and 21 touchdowns while adding another 605 yards and three touchdowns through the air.

He runs with great power in his stocky frame. Some would say he has the power to bounce a walk-on scout player from a golf cart.
