Caleb Lomu Scouting Report
Strengths
Caleb Lomu has a great frame to be an NFL offensive tackle, and he will fill out with more muscle once he gets into the NFL system. Along with his frame and length, Lomu knows how to use his length to his advantage. His hands are really good, and he changes up his striking to keep rushers guessing.
The Utah product is really athletic, both on the move and in his slides. He can move as well as anyone in this class, and once he gets his hands on you, he is locked on with tremendous grip strength.
Weaknesses
Lomu feels like a bambi, in terms of his football career. He’s awkward and is learning how to connect his hands with his feet. Lomu’s footwork also needs polishing and more control, as does most of his game. While he has the tools to be great, he needs a good, patient coach to get him there.
