Offensive prospects are dominating headlines for the 2024 NFL Draft, but it hasn’t been the running backs who have been discussed. After a strong RB free agent class, this draft class is being devalued a bit. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t talented players. For example, one team is going to be very excited to land Bucky Irving out of Oregon.

There will be 257 players selected across the seven rounds, with many more getting phone calls immediately afterward.

Bucky Irving has better explosiveness with the ball than he showed in testing. His footwork is tremendous, and he has a natural lower center of gravity, so getting him down can be tough. And despite this size, he plays like a tough SOB, running hard between the tackles. Irving also looks natural catching the ball and will contribute in this area at the next level.
Irving will never be a bell-cow, due to his build. He is also not likely to become a trustworthy pass protector. His overall speed is also lower than ideal given his size.
