The Denver Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars saw their seasons get off to drastically different starts last weekend. The Broncos began the Teddy Bridgewater era by rolling to a road victory over the New York Giants. Meanwhile, the Jaguars were thoroughly outclassed in a blowout loss to the Houston Texans in the first NFL start for rookie QB Trevor Lawrence. Jacksonville will look to turn things around at home in this Broncos vs Jaguars Week 2 NFL betting matchup.

The following Broncos vs Jaguars NFL betting preview will give you the current odds, betting trends, stream and picks for the Week 2 matchup.

    Denver Broncos Preview

Vic Fangio and the Broncos coaching staff had to endure plenty of scrutiny throughout the preseason with regard to the team’s quarterback competition. At least through one week of the regular season action, the decision to start Teddy Bridgewater over Drew Lock appears to be a good one. It was admittedly a slow start for the Denver offense, but Bridgewater then orchestrated back-to-back scoring drives on either side of the half to help gain some separation from the Giants. Six different receivers had at least three catches for the Broncos. Both Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams saw double-digit carries, with the former exploding for over 100 yards rushing and a score.

Other than losing top wideout Jerry Jeudy to an ankle injury, it was a terrific Week 1 performance for the Broncos offense. The same can be said for a defense that many believe to be one of the best in the NFL. Linebacker Von Miller showed out in his return to the field, with two sacks. Denver had their way with the Giants’ offensive line all afternoon to successfully cover as short NFL betting favorites.

    Jacksonville Jaguars Preview

For as solid as Week 1 proved to be for the Broncos, the exact opposite was true for the Jaguars. Jacksonville also entered their season-opener as a small NFL betting favorite on the road. The humbling loss that ensued certainly exposed the many flaws that this team still needs to address following a brutal 1-15 season. Rookie QB Trevor Lawrence salvaged a respectable stat line in garbage time. However, his three interceptions cannot be ignored.

Of course, Lawrence had minimal help from his offensive line, a unit that had been a glaring weakness for the Jaguars during the preseason. In addition to Lawrence constantly being under duress, the line failed to open any holes for running back James Robinson. Jacksonville also has a lot of growing up to do defensively. They allowed a depleted Texans offense to score at will. One can’t help but wonder whether first-time NFL coach Urban Meyer is in over his head just a bit.
