What to Expect From Patrick Surtain II in 2021

With the Broncos’ recent trade for Teddy Bridgewater, it seemed like a stretch for Denver to take a quarterback. Instead, they elected to go with Surtain, who will certainly be able to bolster their secondary upon arrival. While the return of Von Miller from his season long injury will help the Broncos defense get back to their normal, devastating play, they needed help in their secondary.

Kyle Fuller was really the only corner worth mentioning that was rostered on Denver, so it’s easy to see why Surtain is the pick. Going up against the high powered pass heavy offenses of the Chiefs and Chargers two times a year makes a second solid corner an absolute must. Kyle Fuller is a solid player at corner so they likely won’t need to throw Surtain onto the #1 receiver of opponents immediately. Don’t be surprised if, as the season progresses, he finds himself assuming that role in a dangerous Denver defense.
