Brandon Cisse Scouting Report
Strengths
The biggest draw that scouts have to Cisse is his incredible athleticism and explosiveness. He is an incredibly good player at run support and looks like a safety when he comes down in run support. He’s really good at coming downhill and beating blockers at the line. Brandon Cisse also has the length and size to be a pest in pass coverage as well. He closes on the point of the catch immediately and has the speed necessary to stick with speedy receivers running deep routes.
While he does have his issues, he has the raw talents and traits that you just can’t teach.
Weaknesses
One big issue with Cisse is that he still has plenty of skills and tools that have yet to be refined. He played just 34 games over three years in college, so it could be argued he should’ve stayed in school another year to refine his play. His instincts off the ball are lacking, and he is below average in recognizing routes and his positioning. On jump balls downfield, he’s often not where he needs to be and sometimes struggles to make a play on the ball where he really should. In addition, Brandon Cisse also doesn’t read the quarterback often, which causes him to always be a step behind when the quarterback has time to make the right read.
While his traits and athleticism are solid, he feels very similar to Caleb Farley in 2021. While Farley was always a risky prospect due to injury, part of his struggles in the NFL came from a lack of reps and having plenty of ground to cover once he hit the NFL.
