Best NBA Betting Player Props for Tonight, 2/25

All NBA betting player props odds are taken from BetOnline Sportsbook

LaMelo Ball Under 8.5 Assists (-145)

Young Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball entered the All-Star break on the heels of a triple-double effort that included a whopping 14 assists last Thursday. However, the 20-year-old also finished with six assists or less in five of the final nine games before the break. Furthermore, he enters Friday night’s contest averaging 7.5 dimes per game. While that is certainly solid production in the category, it is also one full assist below the NBA betting line of 8.5.

Basic math can be done to quantify that Ball would need to outperform his average production by a full 1.5 assists in order for this NBA props wager to go over. Such an occurrence is even less likely to happen against tonight’s opponent, the Toronto Raptors, Along with a top-15 defensive efficiency ranking, the Raptors are just 23rd in Pace Factor this season. If Toronto is successfully able to slow down the tempo of tonight’s game, this would certainly figure to work against Ball’s bid to clear the NBA player props total.

Jalen Suggs Under 5.5 Assists (-103)

Along with Cole Anthony, rookie guard Jalen Suggs is part of what appears to be a very bright future for the Orlando Magic backcourt. Although it may not be translating to wins right away, Suggs has compiled decent season averages and entered the All-Star break on a particularly hot stretch. While he finished with seven and 10 assists in two of the four games directly before the break, Suggs’ season average in the category is still only 4.4 helpers per game.

Oddsmakers have set tonight’s NBA player props total set at 5.5 assists. As a result, Suggs would need to eclipse his typical production by a whopping 1.6 dimes to cash the over. It is worth noting that the Magic face the worst defensive team in the league tonight when they host the Houston Rockets. While this undoubtedly figures to increase Orlando’s offensive production, the statistical discrepancy when it comes to this NBA betting prop is still too significant not to look towards the under.

Malik Monk Under 16.5 Points (-122)

When it comes to variance in production, few players have been able to top Malik Monk this season. The 24-year-old has dropped any number of ginormous stat lines for the Los Angeles Lakers thus far. However, he has also had many games where he is hardly a factor at all. Consider the eight games directly prior to the All-Star break as evidence. Monk followed up a huge 33-point performance with only seven in the next game. Then, after stringing together three consecutive 20-point efforts, Monk failed to score more than 13 in any of the final three games going into the break.

While it’s worth noting that his playing time has also bounced around as L.A. has desperately tried to find answers, Monk is only averaging 13.0 points per game on the full season. Fast forward to tonight’s matchup and Monk’s NBA player props scoring total is set at 16.5. Thus, we once again find a scenario in which the player would need to drastically exceed his standard production in order to clear the NBA betting threshold.

The matchup does not figure to do Monk any favors either as the Lakers face the crosstown rival L.A. Clippers. The Clips come in with the eighth-best defneisve efficiency rating in the league. As a result, this shapes up as a game in which bettors can look to fade most Lakers offensive props where appropriate.
