NASCAR DFS | “Rapidfire” Contest for 2.5x Buy-In

-Zach McAdoo

This NASCAR DFS prop is a bit of a tough call for both matchups. I can see Kevin Harvick vs Kyle Busch going either way, but Harvick gets the nod because of his strong history at Phoenix. He leads all drivers with nine career wins at the track and has an incredible average finish.

In the matchup between Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott, I’ll take Hamlin +1.5 fantasy points. I don’t think Elliott will run quite as well as he did last fall when he captured the NASCAR Cup Series Championship. Hamlin could very realistically beat him outright with a better finishing position. The fact that he is catching points as an underdog makes the value on the #11 car too good to pass up.

NASCAR DFS | “More or Less” for 1.5x Buy-In

-Henry John

The lack of strategy that I have implemented in choosing this NASCAR DFS prop may come back to haunt me. Nonetheless, I’ll play all three of Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch and Chase Elliott to come up short of their fantasy point totals on Sunday. This may seem crazy given that all three have won races at Phoenix in the past. Harvick has the most wins in both the Instacart 500 and at Phoenix Raceway of any driver. Chase Elliott just won the last time NASCAR raced here in the fall to capture the Cup Series championship.

Harvick simply has not been running well this year which makes me hesitant to put him over a lofty total. Busch has lacked consistency and Elliott is suddenly being overshadowed by two of his Hendrick Motorsports teammates in Kyle Larson and William Byron. With all that said, the decision to go under on all three drivers for this NASCAR DFS prop is more based on logic and math than it is on past stats and historical trends. Consider the scoring system that Monkey Knife Fight uses. All three would need to finish in the top four and/or lead a whole lot of laps to go over. At least two of them will fall short, which is all we need to win on this prop. Seems logical enough, right?
