The Cincinnati Bengals had defensive personnel in Houston at the Payton Turner pro day on Friday.

According to Cincyjungle.com, the final pro day for the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft featured watching Turner go through drills as representatives with the Bengals watched the 6-5, 268-pound defensive end. The second-team All-AAC player has an arm span of 35 and 3/8” and impressed with a 35.5” vertical jump.

Bengals Attend Payton Turner Pro Day

The report stated that Turner played in five of Houston’s eight games due to the coronavirus last year, but was able to post five sacks and 10.5 tackles for losses.

Turner started three seasons with the Cougars. He did play some his freshman year and had 14 tackles, one interception and one sack, according to team statistics. He was injured his sophomore year.

In his final season in Houston, he recorded 25 total tackles.

Along with the Bengals, ESPN NFL Draft analyst Jim Nagy reported that the Cowboys, Jaguars, Ravens, Saints, Texans, Chargers and Cardinals were all on hand to watch Turner.

The report went on to speculate that Turner might be a good fit for Cincinnati in the second day of the draft.
