The Bears have made a quarterback switch. However, it’s not the switch the fans are wanting. After being rumored a trade destination for Russell Wilson this offseason, Chicago went and signed Andy Dalton. Toying with their fans’ hearts more, the team traded up for Justin Fields, then doubled down on their Dalton commitment. Still, it shouldn’t be ignored that this offensive line is terrible, so they are essentially just sacrificing Dalton until they can figure it out. Nonetheless, the offense should be improved from last season, making the Bears a tough team, when things click.

After playing this team twice per season for his full career, new Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford will be comfortable in this matchup. The upgrade from Jared Goff to Stafford at quarterback is drastic, and some think this alone makes them Super Bowl contenders. The Rams did lose important players from their defense, as well as their defensive coordinator, so we will see how that unit in particular plays Week 1. If they show up and don’t miss a beat, the Rams should be viewed as NFC contenders.
