What a difference a week makes. Against Denver, the Dallas Cowboys could do no right. When they did make the right decision or execute the assignment, it still seemed to backfire. Fast forward a week, and Dallas was playing another 4-4 team. Like Denver, Atlanta was desperate to get their season back on track and coming off a win. It was like déjà vu, but the Cowboys weren’t in the mood for any reruns on this day. Just like the Denver game, Dallas got forced into fourth-down scenarios. After going 0-4 against the Broncos, America’s Team converted all three of…

It was another crazy week of college football that included another upset at the hands of the Purdue Boilermakers. After defeating second-ranked Iowa several weeks ago, Purdue put down third-ranked Michigan State last Saturday. Elsewhere, Oklahoma got a gift from the College Football Playoff Committee when they only dropped Baylor a spot after their shocking loss to the Gary Patterson-less TCU Horned Frogs. The two teams meet this week, giving the Sooners the chance to play a ranked opponent for only the second time this year. Let’s have a look at which college football games and NFL Draft prospects scouts…

Well, that sure was an ego-deflator. For two months, the Dallas Cowboys have been flying high on a six-game win streak that included a victory last week in which Dak Prescott sat out to let his calf heal. Still, the Denver Broncos showed up desperate to get their season back on track on Sunday, and the Cowboys took one on the chin. It’s the first abysmal performance in which Dallas could not right the ship and get things going. In the past, Cowboys fans have grown accustomed to their team putting out an occasional dud of an effort, and that’s…

Let the debate begin, as the first College Football Playoff Rankings are finally here. While the top two were not exactly a shocker in Georgia and Alabama, the rest of the top nine was a bit shocking. Yes, Michigan State and Oregon have the two best wins of the rest of the bunch. Their victories over Michigan and Ohio State are impressive, and I understand their rationale. From there, the committee put Ohio State’s destiny in their own hands at five, knowing a win over the Spartans in a few weeks will earn them a spot in the top four.…

Heading into another great college football weekend, here are the top defensive positional rankings for the 2022 NFL Draft Prospects, including Oregon’s Kayvon Thibodeaux being the top-rated defensive end. Both suffered injuries early on, but the Oregon pass rusher has bounced back in dominant fashion. He’s extremely athletic, and yet, it’s his power that is typically the difference-maker. He can play…

I’ll be the first to admit I was wrong about what I thought would happen on Sunday. However, I’m not guilty of doubting what Cooper Rush could do. Throughout the week, I fielded questions about whether this Dallas Cowboys team could win in Minnesota with Rush. My answer was simple. With the amount of talent on this offense, there are at least 50 quarterbacks in the NFL that would have a chance to keep this unit moving the football enough to get a win. This isn’t 2020. A year ago, Andy Dalton had his fair share of struggle, but Dak…

Heading into another great college football weekend, here are the top offensive positional rankings for the 2022 NFL Draft Prospects, including Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral being the top-rated passer. 2022 NFL Draft Prospects | Offensive Rankings Quarterbacks Positional RankTop-100 RankPlayerSchool113Matt CorralOle Miss216Malik WillisLiberty333Sam HowellNorth Carolina438Kenny PickettPittsburgh552Desmond RidderCincinnati Perhaps no positional ranking has changed more on my board since the start of the season than the quarterbacks. After Spencer Rattler’s benching, he’s off my board completely, as I can’t contemplate a rationale that would explain him entering the 2022 NFL Draft. Kedon Slovis’s health and inconsistency have also led to…

With the first College Football Playoff Rankings to be released next week, things started to round into shape with a more predictable week. While teams like Oklahoma, Cincinnati and Oregon survived close calls, the only upsets were to a banged-up Penn State team and Oklahoma State, who was beaten by the former AP darlings from Iowa State. Kenny Pickett has firmly planted his flag in the Heisman race (and the first-round conversation) with a solid performance against Clemson. At the same time, the Michigan defense continued to smother their opponents with a 33-7 victory over Northwestern. Chip Kelly’s Bruins nearly…

It’s that time of year where every football fan is putting on their general manager caps and forecasting possible trade scenarios to make their favorite team better at the NFL Trade Deadline. Whether it’s bringing in talent that can help them contend this year or shipping off a veteran for a young player or draft compensation, everyone loves to get in on the prognoses. For the Dallas Cowboys, we’ve seen some terrific trade deadline acquisitions, as well as some flops. In 2018, America’s Team struck a deal with the then-Oakland Raiders for Amari Cooper that cost the Cowboys a first-round…

Another week of college football and another top-ranked team dropped as the Purdue defense handcuffed the Iowa Hawkeyes for most of the night. Meanwhile, Georgia and Oklahoma State got big wins over ranked opponents, and BYU and Florida suffered losses that will likely drop them from rankings. In my games from last week, North Carolina State dominated Boston College, fueled by a 21-point third quarter. Linebacker Terrel Bernard and Baylor helped shut down BYU’s Tyler Allgeier to pull off the upset. Also, Charles Cross and the Mississippi State offense ran into a buzz saw against the Crimson Tide as turnovers…
