I am a simple Wisconsin man: I love beer and sports. I decided to create FlurrySports because I was sick of the politics and non-stories that the fat cat corporations put out. When you see football articles from me, just know that I combine my knowledge from playing, coaching, athletic training, and sports management/economic courses to give you a unique, but I feel well-rounded point of view. I am always down to talk about anything, so follow me on Twitter @FantasyFlurry if you decide you want more of me!

As fans, we fear the worst, but non-contact knee injuries generally do not bring good news. New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman went down in a heap during their preseason game against the Detroit Lions. While the severity of the injury has yet to be confirmed, the team believes that Edelman suffered a torn ACL, at the very least. Edelman’s MRI is scheduled for Saturday, and his teammates are doing their best to remain positive. “We’ll see what the extent of it is,” Tom Brady said. “We’re hoping for the best. It’s a tough thing for a teammate to…

Your first round pick is important in fantasy success, but finding those breakout players during the season is what wins championships. Think about it, the person you draft first is expected to do well. That is exactly why you picked them right away, thus it is almost impossible for your first player to be a good value pick. So, there are two main ideas surrounding Evans: 1) His talent and target share puts him in the top-three conversation, or 2) His target share is not sustainable, and his numbers will go down with targets. Clearly, I am in the second boat. The Bucs have had a depleted…

We’ve seen some preseason games, training camp news, injuries and even some big trades. This means it was time to update my rankings a little bit as we head into draft season. Previously, my rankings were in standard scoring. Due to many requests (and because it’s my favorite way to play anyways), the rest of the rankings this season will be in PPR format, so expect to see a slight boost to pass-catchers. Without further ado, here are my preseason top-120 rankings for PPR scoring leagues!

Seemingly out of nowhere, the Bills pulled off two trades in a matter of seconds that nobody saw coming. First, the Bills traded injury-prone Sammy Watkins to the LA Rams with a 2018 sixth-round pick in exchange for cornerback E.J. Gaines and a 2018 second-round draft pick. The second trade sent cornerback Ronald Darby to the Eagles in exchange for wide receiver Jordan Matthews and a 2018 third-round pick. Sammy Watkins is a 24-year-old who offers tremendous upside, but has been hit with nagging injuries early in his career. He has put together a tremendous camp, so if there was…
