Brenton Strange vs Indianapolis Colts (29%)
Coming back two weeks ago from his stint on IR, Brenton Strange has been one of the better tight ends in fantasy football. He has back-to-back double-digit performances in PPR formats, finishing as TE5 in both games. With nine combined targets in those two games, it looks like Strange is emerging as one of the top pass catchers in a loaded receiving room in Jacksonville. Last week in Jacksonville’s win over the Titans, Strange was on the field for a whopping 84% of the team’s offensive snaps. He is as strong a red zone target as Jacksonville has, and with Parker Washington going down with an injury, that only boosts Strange.
This week, the Jaguars take on the Indianapolis Colts in a major AFC South battle for sole possession of the top of the division. With that being the case, I expect Jacksonville to throw the ball and get it to their top playmakers. Luckily for the Jaguars, the Colts’ defense has been one of the worst in the NFL against tight ends this season. On the season, tight ends are scoring 9.1 fantasy points per game against the Colts, totaling 865 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns.

Darren Waller vs New York Jets (20.8%)
Speaking of players who recently returned from IR, Darren Waller found himself back on the field last week, to give Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins another option in the receiving game. On the season, Waller has been fairly effective, totaling four touchdowns in five games. When we look at the Dolphins’ offense on paper, when they get to the red zone, outside of DeVon Achane, Waller seems like the most likely target to score a touchdown. Given his size and athleticism, he fits the perfect prototype for a red zone receiver.
This week, with a matchup against the New York Jets, Waller is in line for another big day. The first time that these two teams met up this season was Waller’s first game of the year. In that game, he came away with two touchdown receptions. Given the lack of a true number two receiving option in Miami, a similar stat line this week is not out of the realm of possibilities. On the season, opposing tight ends have scored seven receiving touchdowns against the Jets, so look for Waller to find himself in the end zone and register a solid day as a streaming option this week.
Isaiah Likely vs Pittsburgh Steelers (7.9%)
While Isaiah Likely’s usage has not been what we wanted to see since he returned from injury in week four, that looks like it is starting to change, as the Coastal Carolina alum but together his best game this season last week against the Cincinnati Bengals. Recording 95 yards on five receptions, Likely finished as TE9 on the week. He also lost a fumble as he was stretching for the goal line, so assuming he gets in on that play, he has that much better of a week last week. I am expecting a better game from Lamar Jackson and the offense in a must-win game against the Steelers this week, meaning that Likely continues to stay involved.
Even though he is still TE2 for the Ravens, the matchup with the Steelers presents potential for a good week. Tight ends are scoring 8.9 fantasy points per game against the Steelers. Over the course of the season, tight ends have recorded 765 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns against Pittsburgh. This Ravens offense is at its best when both tight ends are involved in the pass game, to complement Derrick Henry and the run game. Look for Likely to stay involved in the receiving game, as the Ravens make a push for the playoffs this week.
