Week 8 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em RB analysis from FlurrySports includes the likes of Baltimore Ravens’ Derrick Henry.
Welcome to the fantasy football bye-pocalypse! Injuries at the running back position have been tough to navigate, but now we have six teams on bye as well. Players like Jahmyr Gibbs, Ashton Jeanty, Travis Etienne, and several others will not be playing. This will make the task of creating a winning fantasy lineup much tougher, presenting you with some tough questions. Today, we’ll go over our Week 8 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em to help you decide on some of those tough lineup decisions.
No, you are not sitting Saquon Barkley, even though has has not played up to his level. Simply, start your studs! This article is designed to help solve some of those difficult RB2 or Flex questions you may have, with players who live in that grey area.
Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out my weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also become a member to join a group chat with me and other members where all fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions are welcomed!

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 8 RBs
Start: Derrick Henry Fantasy Outlook vs Bears
Zach Brunner’s Week 8 Fantasy Football Rankings
Lamar Jackson is practicing, so it looks like he will return to lead a talented and desperate Ravens offense. They cannot afford to lose, so look for them to take advantage of a great performance off their bye week. The Bears have allowed the second-most yards per carry this season (5.3), and they will now face a physical Baltimore offensive line and one of the all-time great running backs. With the Ravens as 6.5-point favorites as well, game script should be on Henry’s side, so look for him to comfortably finish as an RB1 in NFL Week 8.
Start: Breece Hall Fantasy Outlook at Bengals
It is known that the Jets will switch to Tyrod Taylor at quarterback this week, which should make them a more efficient offense. However, I would argue that either quarterback would have been fine this week, given the matchup against Cincinnati. The Jets will be able to run the ball perfectly fine against the Bengals. This season, Cincinnati has allowed the most fantasy points to RBs (32.1 — +3 more than anyone else). The Bengals also allow 4.7 yards per carry, and they have allowed 310 yards and four touchdowns to the position through the air as well. Breece Hall will see a heavy workload in a game where the Jets will finally be able to move the ball, leading to him getting opportunities in scoring position. More opportunities in scoring position will lead to more touchdowns. Basic geography.

Sit: Rhamondre Stevenson Fantasy Outlook vs Browns
I am and have been pro-Rhamondre Stevenson this entire fantasy football season — check the receipts! However, this is not shaping up to be a great matchup for the league running back in New England. Last week was only the second game of the season in which he found the end zone, which we did predict in a video. He faces the Browns in Week 8. Cleveland has surrendered just three touchdowns to RBs in seven games, and they also surrender the fewest yards per carry in the league (3.3 yards). Stevenson is likely to be inefficient without a touchdown, which is why he is here in the Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em.
Sit: Jacory Croskey-Merritt Fantasy Outlook at Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs, with their full receiving corps, are no joke. Last week, we saw them dominate the time of possession, and they even got their own running game going. I bring this up here because they likely can do that again against the Commanders.
Already without Jayden Daniels, there is a strong chance that Washington starts the game slowly. Hell, they average just two first-quarter points per game in road games this season. If they get behind early and let the Chiefs control the clock, the number of possessions they have will be limited. This limits the number of fantasy points Jacory Croskey-Merritt can score. If they are chasing points as well, Washington may go with Jeremy McNichols for pass protection and receiving abilities. On top of all of this, the Chiefs surrender the sixth-fewest fantasy points to RBs this season.
