Week 5 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em QB analysis from FlurrySports includes the likes of New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart.

As we enter Week 5 of the NFL season, we have a clearer idea of how players and teams will shake out this year. With that being said, it is still trust the good players, and if something surprised you last week, then that could be a good indication to be skeptical. As you will see with the players on my list of Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em QBs below, we are trusting what we know this time around.

To help you with the tough decisions at passer in Week 5 of the NFL season, we have our weekly Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em article! No, you will not be hearing about Josh Allen or Jalen Hurts. Yes, start them. Who do they play? Doesn’t matter. Instead, we will be talking about the players who may be on the borderline of that starting lineup threshold. They’re not a no-brainer starter. So, depending on the matchup, they could be a start or a sit. Get the format?

Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also become a member to join a group chat with Zach Brunner and other members where all fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions are welcomed!

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 5 QBs

Start: Jaxson Dart Fantasy Outlook vs Saints

The start of the week at the quarterback position is someone that you probably just picked up on your waiver wire. Jaxson Dart stepped into his first start of the season and came away with a major victory for the New York Giants. Dart immediately brings a different factor to the Giants’ offense that Russell Wilson did not have: youth and athleticism. Of course, it matters, but I am not so sure that not having Malik Nabers is a major hit to the Giants’ offense in this game. Being a rookie, if his first read is not there, Dart is going to tuck the ball and run. We saw Josh Allen score a rushing touchdown against the Saints last week. As someone who is probably going to rush more than Allen, I can certainly see Dart getting into the end zone.

As for the Saints, they continue to perform as one of the worst teams in the NFL. On defense, they are giving up an average of 24.2 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks per week. They have given up nine passing touchdowns, and without much of a rush defense, the Giants will be able to move the ball well in this game with Dart leading the charge.

Start: Sam Darnold Fantasy Outlook vs Buccaneers

Outside of a terrible Week 1 performance, Sam Darnold has not scored under 16 points in a game this season. He is the definition of a guy who won’t lose you a week. If you are in a situation where you have Joe Burrow or Lamar Jackson on your team, picking up and starting Darnold will be a great option. With a supporting cast of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, Ken Walker, Zach Charbonnet and Tory Horton, the Seahawks will have no problem moving the ball in this game.

The Buccaneers have been bad against the pass this season, giving up an average of 21 points to opposing quarterbacks. On top of that, they have given up an average of 208 passing yards and 1.5 passing touchdowns per game. As I stated before, Darnold is in the perfect spot-start situation this week, with so many early-season injuries at the quarterback position.

Sit: Tua Tagovailoa Fantasy Outlook vs Panthers

I am sitting Tua Tagovailoa this week, as the Miami Dolphins might be the worst team in the NFL. While Tagovailoa, in his own right, is not a great quarterback, he is going to be without Tyreek Hill the rest of the way. That is a monumental hit to an already struggling receiving staff. The Dolphins lost their top run-with-the-ball guy. That does not bode well for Tagovailoa, who already relies so much on YAC for fantasy points. He may be considered a “sit” in our Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em often for the rest of the year.

The Panthers have also been surprisingly good against the pass this season. They are only giving up an average of 14.2 points per game to opposing quarterbacks and have given up just four passing touchdowns all season long. I think Miami should be able to run this ball in this game. I also think Carolina should be able to run this ball in this game. That makes me think this is going to sloppy offensive game.

Sit: Carson Wentz Fantasy Outlook vs Browns

Speaking of sloppy offensive football, let’s head overseas for a matchup between the Vikings and the Browns. While Carson Wentz is coming off a QB9 week, much of that came in garbage time at the end of the game, when Minnesota was battling back for a win. I do not imagine that being the case in this game, as it is hard for me to believe that Cleveland gets out to any sort of big lead against Minnesota.

The Browns have also been awesome on defense this season. They are giving up the fourth-fewest passing yards this season. On top of that, their run defense is as good as any in the NFL. With Myles Garrett, Carson Wentz won’t be able to set up and be comfortable in this game. With Wentz uncomfortable, we have seen him go off script and throw interceptions. While I like Minnesota to win this game, it really feels like a slopfest overseas without much offense.
