Suffering some injuries at running back? Here are three low-owned fantasy football RB pickups to make for Week 4, including Houston Texans rookie Woody Marks!

While embarking on the process of searching for low-owned fantasy football RB pickups and viable Week 4 streamers at the position, one can’t help but notice the wide gulf in ownership percentages. Given the presence of several uninspiring committee backfields around the league and the injuries that have transpired at the position through three weeks, finding fantasy football RB streamers is no easy task! If you find yourself in a bind rounding out your lineup and/or roster depth at the position, you’ve come to the right place.

Fantasy Football RB Pickups for Week 4

Woody Marks, Houston Texans (19.4%)

Rookie Woody Marks tops our list of fantasy football RB pickups this week. He has been a popular name in waiver wire discussions this week and for good reason, given how the Texans’ backfield appears to be trending. Marks has seen his snap count trend up in each successive week, culminating in a season-high 48% this past Sunday. In terms of actual snap counts, he played only three fewer than Nick Chubb in the game. While it hasn’t led to eye-popping fantasy scoring production just yet, the increased playing time is certainly encouraging.

In the coming weeks, Houston looks like it will settle into a two-man committee backfield, as both Dameon Pierce and Dare Ogunbowale played exactly zero snaps in Week 3. The most logical distribution of workload would be for Chubb to handle early down/run situations and Marks to primarily serve as the change-of-pace and passing down guy. Naturally, there are concerns surrounding all Texans players for fantasy purposes right now, given the overall struggles of this offense. That said, Marks is a name to watch moving forward and especially in Week 4 against a Tennessee Titans defense that has allowed the third-most PPR points to opposing RBs.

Braelon Allen, New York Jets (28.5%)

Braelon Allen is still clearly the second back in the Jets’ offense behind Breece Hall, but it was encouraging to see him play a third of the offensive snaps in Week 3. It has to be difficult for the Jets to ignore the fact that he has averaged over five yards per carry spanning the last two games, while Hall has been held under three. Yes, the latter has a much larger sample size, but this discrepancy could be a factor in how snaps and touches continue to evolve within this backfield. It should also be noted that Allen was also on the field and active in a number of passing situations this past weekend. He caught both of the targets sent his way.

As usual, the matchup is another key component to the appeal surrounding Allen as a fantasy football RB pickups play this week. The Jets will tangle with the Miami Dolphins in a battle of winless division rivals on Monday night. What a treat that the entire country gets to see these two go at it to cap the Week 4 action! At any rate, the Dolphins have allowed the fifth-most PPR points to opposing backs and also rank 31st in EPA per rush defensively. Allen may not be the lead back, but it may not take many touches to put forth a FLEX-caliber stat line in this favorable matchup.

Blake Corum, Los Angeles Rams (15.4%)

If you’re surprised to see Blake Corum featured as a fantasy football RB streaming option, just know that I am also a bit surprised to be writing about him! From a role standpoint, Corum is still way behind Kyren Williams in the Rams’ backfield. While he did see a season-high eight carries this past week, those largely came with L.A. holding a double-digit lead before all hell broke loose. Corum notably piled up 53 yards on those touches. In Week 4, the Rams will be hosting the unbeaten Indianapolis Colts in what is expected to be a competitive game. Could Corum actually be a viable streamer in this matchup? Let’s build a case.

First, we must mention that the Colts have dominated inferior opponents in two of their three games played so far. Due to playing with a lead, opposing offenses have only attempted 47 rushes against the Indianapolis defense. This ranks second only to the Chargers in terms of the fewest rushing attempts any defense has had to defend to date. The thing is, the Colts only rank 30th in defensive EPA per rush on those limited attempts. This notion could very well lead to a run-heavy offensive game plan for the Rams. Thus, Corum may be busier than we expect in this matchup, leading to his sneaky fantasy football RB pickups appeal.
