Calvin Ridley signed a four-year, $92M contract on Wednesday to go to an AFC South rival, the Tennessee Titans. Ridley joins a Titans offense this is led by quarterback Will Levis and features notable receiver DeAndre Hopkins. His addition gives the young quarterback in Levis another reliable target in the passing game. But, that begs the question in what will the Calvin Ridley fantasy football impact be on his new team?
Calvin Ridley Fantasy Impact of Titans Free Agent Signing
In Calvin Ridley’s career, he has scored at least 13.1 PPR fantasy points per game in each of his five seasons. Despite finishing as WR18 in PPR scoring last season, it was a very bumpy ride. He had the biggest of weeks, but he also had the lowest of lows, with eight of his 17 games last season having scored double-digit PPR fantasy points.
What does this mean for the Calvin Ridley fantasy football value for 2024? Well, Ridley does have the benefit of following the offensive coordinator, Nick Holz, from Jacksonville to Tennessee. Although, he does face a downgrade in quarterback play, from Trevor Lawrence to Will Levis.
Ridley also joins the new-look Titans offense, as they saw the departure of Derrick Henry and replaced him with Tony Pollard. Even though he downgrades in quarterback play, I think he will slide in perfectly alongside DeAndre Hopkins. Therefore, I am not seeing any changes from last year with Calvin Ridley. He’ll still be a middle-to-low tier WR2 and a high-end WR3/Flex option with a dash of inconsistency, who is capable of having humongous weeks, but also having not-so-great weeks.
