AEW Dynamite Results 6/8
Kyle O’Reilly wins Casino Battle Royal to face Jon Moxley in the main event to hold interim AEW title.

Christian makes a triple threat match for Tag Team Championships next week vs. the Hardy’s and the Young Bucks in a ladder match.
Thunder Rosa def. Marina Shafir, Toni Storm saves Rosa after the match.
Jon Moxley def. Kyle O’Reilly to challenge either Tanahashi or Goto for the AEW Interim Title at Forbidden Door.
AEW Dynamite Highlights
Eddie Kingston is a Genius
Eddie Kingston got a one-minute promo tonight, and it may have been the best thing on the show. He called out the guys in the truck for cutting him short but promised he could make the little time work. He made clear his hatred for all members of the Jericho Appreciation Society and swore that he would make Jake Hager pay on Rampage for costing him his chance at the AEW World Title at the start of the show.
He then ended the moment by mocking the producer off-screen and bringing him into camera shot just to promise more carnage later on. No one has more real, more unpredictable, or dare I say better promos than Kingston. He was limited to one minute tonight, and it somehow made him only more threatening and captivating.
Will Osprey is All Elite
Perhaps the best wrestler in the world has arrived from Japan. Will Osprey had sent his goons from the United Empire to attack Roppongi Vice and FTR in the past, but tonight Osprey himself made his way to Dynamite.
Anyone familiar with his work will tell you that Osprey is capable of stealing any show. Seeing him on AEW is a dream come true for many. Let the fantasy booking commence, as it appears Osprey may lead a team into Forbidden Door including Aussie Open, possibly the best tag team outside of America. AEW has had many big names come over, but they don’t get much bigger than we saw tonight.
PAC & Buddy Have Instant Chemistry
While I have some gripes with the stakes of this match that I will get into later, this match absolutely ruled in the ring. Buddy Matthews was WWE’s “secret weapon” for a while and now he may have that role in AEW. Many may overlook just how good Matthews is, but alongside PAC, they put on a tough, epic match that could’ve fit on any pay-per-view. Both are incredibly athletic. If high octane striking and false finishes is your style, then this match is a must-watch for you.
Jon Moxley Rises to the Occasion
Mox can’t be envied for the position he was put in tonight. Punk is gone, and things seemed sad tonight in AEW as plans were clearly thrown into flux. But despite all of the curveballs, Jon Moxley still feels like he can carry this show on his back. Kyle O’Reilly was a great dance partner to put on a hard-hitting match, but in order to make the interim belt feel like it holds any weight, they’ll need someone like Mox to make it feel that way.
He hasn’t been the focus of Dynamite for almost two years now, but when the brand needs him most, Wild Thing seems ready to retake his throne atop AEW.
AEW Dynamite Lowlights
An Ignored Division
We’re past Double Or Nothing, and still, the Women’s division is a forgotten part of AEW. They continually are put into one 20-minute chunk of TV with very little screen time or different characters shown, and the booking is lacking overall.
The crowd was totally dead for Shafir vs. Rosa, and it’s hard to blame them. Rosa is awesome but has had no positive booking as champion, with one forgettable and underbooked feud after another. I think it’s easy to think this division doesn’t have stars, but the truth is they never have a chance! Rosa, Toni Storm, and Jade were on TV but only for a total of 15 minutes tonight. And they’re the lucky ones, with no Britt Baker, no Ruby Soho, and no Serina Deeb among others. AEW’s glaring flaw has always been the booking of this division, and it’s about time to fix it.
Too Many Belts
A little rant here. AEW now has a Men’s World Champion, a TNT champion, Tag Team Champions, Owen Hart Memorial Champion, ROH TV champion, ROH World Champion, ROH Pure Champion, ROH Tag Champions, and have now added the All-Atlantic Title in the Pac match, I guess, with the Trios Titles announced for soon as well. THAT’S JUST THE MEN’S DIVISION.
I like featuring new belts, but I can’t be asked to keep them all straight. I actually laughed when they announced the All-Atlantic belts tonight. They are so unnecessary. With an Interim World Champion soon to be crowned as well, AEW needs to drop some of these or at least figure out how to distinguish these titles into a meaningful hierarchy.
AEW Headlines
Warner Bros executives are allegedly furious with MJF, call for him to be not given any more promos and setting up an absence for a while.
Injuries run rampant in wrestling, as CM Punk and Cody Rhodes only highlight a string of injuries to big-name stars. Cody’s torn pec is set to cost him an estimated six months while Punk’s foot could cost him a couple of months as well.
AEW’s All Out PPV is happening this coming weekend, headlined by CM Punk’s first World Championship match in over 7 years against Hangman Adam Page.
