Ivy League basketball is finally back for another NCAA Tournament. They did not compete last year, as the conference decided to cancel all winter sports in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. This decision included men’s college basketball. Like other years, this year, only four teams will compete in the Ivy League Tournament. Princeton, Cornell, Yale and Penn will all be vying for conference representation in the NCAA Tournament. Princeton leads the way in the conference, finishing with a 12-2 record in the Ivy League basketball standings. Believe it or not, the last Ivy League Tournament winner was Yale way back in 2019. Can they repeat as champions? The following contains the Ivy League Tournament bracket and schedule, as well as a preview of what we can expect to see.

Ivy League Conference Breakdown

As previously mentioned, the last time that this conference tournament was won was actually in 2019. The Yale Bulldogs took home the crown and are in a spot to do so again. The Bulldogs are led by Azar Swain, who averages 18.9 points per game. The Bulldogs have seven of their nine top scorers as juniors or seniors.

Yale excels at getting to the free-throw line, shooting 19.3 foul line shots per game. They convert their free throws at a 74% clip, good for 92nd in the country. The Bulldogs will have to get through Princeton if they want to represent the conference in NCAA Tournament though.

The Tigers finished the conference season with a 12-2 record. Princeton features three players who score 14.7 points per game, or more. Much like Yale, Princeton is an old team, with all five starters being juniors or seniors. The Tigers’ best trait is their offense. The Tigers score 80.6 points per game, good for eighth in the country. Princeton is also the sixth-best three-point shooting team in the country, at 38.8%. Look for Princeton to dominate with their offense and potentially even make a surprise NCAA Tournament run.
