Taysom Hill fantasy owners will be getting a little bit lucky, as the New Orleans Saints named the gadget player as the starting quarterback over Jameis Winston for Week 11 against the Atlanta Falcons. With Hill’s contract about to spike next season (over $16M cap hit), it looks like the Saints want to see if they have any future with Hill as a passer.
Taysom Hill Fantasy Outlook
With a matchup against the Falcons, who surrender the most fantasy points to quarterbacks in the league (26.0), Hill becomes an interesting start in fantasy this week.
Hill has attempted just 18 passes in his career, completing 10 of them for 205 yards. While he has thrown one interception, he has yet to throw a touchdown pass. With the Falcons allowing a league-high 22 touchdowns through the air this season, he has a good chance to check off that box this week.
We have seen the benefit to having a dual-threat at quarterback for fantasy. Clearly, Hill is more than that. Expect to see plenty of designed runs, broken plays, passes on the run, and he could still make a couple catches in this game as well. Given all of this, Hill has to be a borderline QB1 this week, with obvious upside.
Taysom Hill TE Eligibity
This is where you can look like a genius. There are some leagues that have given Hill tight end eligibility. In other words, you can turn your lineup into a 2QB lineup for this week with ease.
A dual-threat quarterback, playing against the defense that surrenders the most fantasy points to QBs? I already love that. Getting to play him at tight end, which is a wasteland outside of Travis Kelce and maybe Darren Waller, is a dream scenario.
Immediately, Hill gets slotted in as the TE2 in fantasy this week for me, just behind Kelce.
