    The Real MVP: Paul George?

Paul George has been overlooked most of his career, this season not excluded. Whenever anyone talks about who should win MVP this season, there’s no Paul George. People only mention James Harden and Giannis Antetokounmpo, for good reason. I’m here to tell everyone to stop overlooking what is arguably the best season in George’s career yet.

George is averaging career-highs in most of the statistical categories, putting up 28.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 4.1 assists a game while shooting 45.3% from the field overall and 40.6% from three. George shouldn’t get overlooked in favor of James Harden, because this man actually plays both sides of the floor. He’s top-five in the league in steals, averaging 2.3 steals per game. He’s tasked with not only carrying the Thunder on the offensive end most nights, but also guarding the opposing team’s best offensive player.

Paul George being overlooked confirms that this NBA world that we live in today doesn’t care about defense. All people care about nowadays is who can score the most or shoot the most. George has been the definition of efficiency from the floor, while James Harden is jacking up 30 shots per game in order to keep a meaningless streak going. Stop being blind witnesses and actually watch a Thunder game. This guy is doing it night in and night out and doesn’t take any days off. Don’t get me wrong, what Harden and Antetokounmpo are doing is very impressive, but the Thunder rely on George on both ends of the floor while the other respective teams rely on those players on one side of the ball.

George has been getting more attention over the past few weeks, but he’s still not being considered as a legitimate MVP contender. Ask Lakers fans all over the world, would you not want George on your team?
