Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 9 RBs Include Chase Brown

November 5, 2026

For the most part, the top-drafted wide receivers have lived up to expectations this season, so everyone should have a starting WR to feel good about. However, once you move to the WR2/3 tiers, the inconsistency is wild. Playing the matchups seems like the best bet right now, but who is worth a spot in your starting lineup for Week 9?

I’m here to answer some of those tough questions in my Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em!

Look, I am not here to say that Jaxon Smith-Njigba or Puka Nacua belong in your lineup. I hope you already know that. Instead, I will go over players you may actually have a question about. These are players you may debate on starting in your WR2/3 slot, or possibly your Flex position, depending on the weekly matchup. Below, I have two players I like and two more that I am nervous about.

Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also access the FlurrySports Playbook here for all of the matchup-winning data your league doesn’t want you to have! There’s no doubt it will help with your fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions.

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 9 WRs

Start: Denzel Boston Fantasy Outlook at Saints

The Cleveland Browns have hit on both rookie wide receivers, and it’s the outside receiver, Denzel Boston, who I am most excited for this week. He started the season great, with four top-30 finishes in five games. However, in the past three games, Boston has a total of 10 receptions for 79 yards.

That doesn’t tell the whole story. In the past two games, Boston has averaged 9.5 looks per game and 118.5 air yards per game. Over the past four weeks, the Saints have allowed three WR receptions of 20+ yards per game, which is the second-most in the league.

Boston’s usage should stay the same, and the matchup suggests these high-quality targets will start converting again, making him a sneak “start” in our Week 9 Fantasy Football Start ‘em, Sit ‘em.

Start: Keenan Allen Fantasy Outlook vs Cowboys

Keenan Allen was a player I listed as a “start” last week, and there is no reason to take him out of your starting lineup. For as bad as the Dallas Cowboys defense is, the Indianapolis Colts’ entire team is that much worse. So, the Colts will be trailing and needing to throw the ball, and Dallas has proven even Gardner Minshew can come in and do that.

Last week, with Tyler Warren back in the lineup, Allen caught seven passes for 67 yards. He has a 22.1% target share this season, and he will continue to be peppered with targets from Daniel Jones. The Colts have to keep Josh Downs healthy as well, since they need to trade him, so he could see fewer snaps and targets than normal.

A healthy serving of targets goes a long way against a Dallas defense that surrenders the seventh-most fantasy points per game to WRs. This rises to the fifth-most over the past five weeks. If you are in a fantasy league that rewards receptions, fire Keenan Allen up with confidence, and you can also make money on his stats when you use SmackTok with the promo code FLURRY. Sit: Michael Wilson Fantasy Outlook at Seahawks

I’m more than excited to sit all Arizona Cardinals not named Trey McBride. After an embarrassing loss in prime time, I think this Seattle Seahawks defense will take that anger out on Arizona.

Gardner Minshew played well last week. However, he was playing with house money, since he came off the sideline. He also was passing against the Cowboys. The matchup against Seattle, after they spent all week preparing for him, will not go as well.

Seattle doesn’t have to commit extra bodies to stopping the run, since Arizona’s run game isn’t good and Seattle’s run defense is among the best in the league, allowing just 3.9 yards per carry. There will be at least two sets of eyes on Michael Wilson, with a corner playing him aggressively while another defensive back helps over the top. As a result, the ceiling is low for Wilson while the floor is nonexistent.

Despite at least six targets in each of his past three games against the Seahawks, Wilson has been held under 35 yards in all of them. He totaled two catches for 18 yards earlier this season.

Sit: Buccaneers WRs vs Chiefs

Emeka Egbuka has been out for the past couple of weeks. And while he just cleared concussion protocol, he still isn’t practicing due to a foot/ankle injury. Regardless of whether he plays or not, the Tampa Bay receivers need to be avoided.

Now, Baker Mayfield completing no passes won’t happen again. Yes, he is playing hurt, limiting how effective he will be. However, our NFL Weather tool last week alerted you that the game would be a rushing funnel due to the weather, which had a huge impact.

It may be tempting to play the receivers against a Chicago defense that has allowed the third-most yards per pass attempt this season. However, they showed last week how good their defense, and more specifically their pass rush, can play. If Baker is under that kind of pressure, Tampa will really struggle. And when he does complete passes, predicting the players catching those passes will be tough.
