The fantasy football world has to deal with four teams on bye this week. That means Jared Goff or Joe Burrow fantasy owners must look elsewhere for their starting fantasy quarterback. There’s no doubt that this creates some struggles with finding the best available option for you to play. Hopefully, the Week 6 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em below will answer some of your questions.
Now, let’s establish some boundaries here. I am not here to say Josh Allen is a “start” this week. We’ll leave that groundbreaking analysis to the AI slop creators. Instead, I will be discussing those who are worthy of a conversation and who may be on the fringe of being a QB1 this week.
Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also become a member to join a group chat with Zach Brunner and other members where all fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions are welcome!

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 6 QBs
Start: Jameis Winston Fantasy Outlook vs Saints
You absolutely should start Jameis Winston in his revenge game against the New Orleans Saints. He has played the Saints once since leaving the team, and he put up over 26 points against them. Winston is in line for another solid performance against them.
The Saints are allowing 5.7 yards per play, 7.5 yards per pass attempt and over a 70% completion rate to opponents this season. Their 30.2 points allowed per game is also the second-most in the league. Clearly, teams are moving the ball and scoring at will against the Saints, the Giants should do the same this week. Winston has gotten better with each week he has gotten starter reps, culminating in him completing 33/54 passes for 326 yards, three touchdowns and no turnovers last week.

Start: Kirk Cousins Fantasy Outlook vs Bills
It may be a bit surprising, but Kirk Cousins has been a solid fantasy quarterback this season. He has been a top-12 fantasy QB in three of the past four weeks, with the only miss being against a tough New England defense. This week, the Raiders may take a pass-heavy approach. Not only may Ashton Jeanty be rested, but the Raiders will have to pass to keep up with the Buffalo Bills.
Game script isn’t the only positive with the matchup against Buffalo. The Bills allow the fourth-most fantasy points to QBs as well as a 66.7% completion rate. Brock Bowers has been a cheat code since his return, and the matchup should allow receivers like Tre Tucker to get involved as well. Cousins looks to be a safe QB option with top-10 upside. It doesn’t get much better than that!
Sit: Aaron Rodgers Fantasy Outlook at Buccaneers
The veteran has been great this season, especially the past three weeks. He has totaled three touchdowns in each of the last three games. So, you may be thinking you should start him this week, but Aaron Rodgers lands on the wrong side of our Fantasy Football Start ‘em, Sit ‘em.
To start, Rodgers will be down both Michael Pittman Jr. and Roman Wilson. Yes, rookie Germie Bernard is talented, but the receiving corps is still depleted, lowering his upside. What makes this worse is his matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
While Tampa has struggled to get wins, their defense has been solid. The Buccaneers have held every quarterback to under 20 fantasy points this season, ranking as a top-10 unit. As of now, our Weather App says it could be a bit windy for this game as well, and the projected total for the game is just 39.5. It looks to be a kicking and defensive battle, which means the ceiling for Aaron Rodgers and other offensive players is pretty low. If you need a quarterback, there are better options out there to pick up and start; just check my rankings.
Sit: Bo Nix Fantasy Outlook vs Seahawks
Currently, Bo Nix is in the starting lineup of nearly a quarter of ESPN Fantasy leagues, which is crazy. So, if I can break through to some of you, please sit Nix in Week 6 against the Seahawks. And you have to do it fast since he plays tonight.
Sean Payton took over playcalling last week, and it didn’t change much. Bo Nix passed for a whopping 123 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers. Now, on a short week, Nix faces a defense that is actually good. Seattle allows the fifth-fewest fantasy points to QBs and the fewest yards per pass attempt (5.5). Through five games, the Seahawks have allowed just 834 passing yards. There is no scenario where you should have Bo Nix in your starting lineup.
He is not a bye week fill-in, and he is still a sit in 2QB leagues. Check out the FlurrySports Playbook for more data and analysis to help with those tough Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em decisions!
