The running back position has taken quite the hit for Week 6. Players like Jahmyr Gibbs, Aaron Jones and Ollie Gordon are on bye, while Quinshon Judkins and Ashton Jeanty may both be held out due to injuries. Of course, this is all on top of the other injuries we have endured. You may find it tough to sift through the trash to field the best starting lineup possible this week, so this Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em is designed to help answer some of the most common questions fantasy owners face.
For my fantasy start/sit, we will discuss players who are on the fringe of your lineup. Players who may or may not be an RB2 or Flex for you, depending on the matchup. Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings here.

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 6 RBs
Start: Cam Skattebo Fantasy Outlook vs Saints
It has been a tough season to be a Cam Skattebo fantasy owner, but for Week 6, he lands on the right side of our Fantasy Football Start ‘em, Sit ‘em. I’m optimistic about several offensive players for the Giants this week, but Skattebo in particular has a great matchup.
The New Orleans Saints are the worst defense against fantasy RBs this season, giving up over 30 fantasy points per game to the position. They are getting gashed on the ground, allowing 667 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground to RBs through five games.
Skattebo hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 1. However, he has 11 red zone carries and a 30% goal-line share this season. I expect the Giants to move the ball well and be in the red zone a fair amount, and they will lean on Skattebo once they get there. Bet him to score a touchdown, and start Cam Skattebo on your fantasy team.
Start: Rhamondre Stevenson Fantasy Outlook vs Jets
The New England Patriots have ruled out TreVeyon Henderson already. While the Patriots will use Corey Kiner some, this backfield belongs to Rhamondre Stevenson, who will see a ton of work in Week 6.
Previously, Stevenson was just thought to be the early-down running back, and the one who would see short-yardage carries. However, he’s expanded his role this season, catching 18 passes through five weeks. This skill set will be on full display against the Jets.
The Jets defense has played well this season, ranking in the top 10 against fantasy RBs but allowing 4.2 yards per carry. Even if the Patriots struggle to run the ball, they should be able to pass. Stevenson will be involved with that, and he will see plenty of work in the red zone once they get there. Start him with confidence while Henderson is sidelined.

Sit: Woody Marks Fantasy Outlook vs Jaguars (London)
Woody Marks was a hot pickup this week, and many will say to play him since David Montgomery is out. However, was Montgomery having success as the lead back? On top of that, has anyone had a great game against the Jaguars?
Jacksonville allows the third-fewest fantasy points to RBs this season, allowing just 210 yards and two touchdowns on the ground to the position. The Jaguars allow the fewest yards per carry in the league (2.9), while the Texans are averaging the third-fewest yards per carry (3.4). If Woody Marks has a good fantasy day, it will have to be as a receiver, and I am not willing to risk that.
Sit: JK Dobbins Fantasy Outlook vs Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks defense is once again terrific this season. They have allowed the sixth-fewest yards per carry (3.7). It has been extremely tough to run against Seattle. However, the Seahawks allowed the most catches out of the backfield last season, and they have allowed 26 receptions through five games already.
If Denver wants to use their running backs as receivers to exploit this weakness, it makes sense for them to utilize RJ Harvey more often. While he had just three touches last week, Harvey had 10 receptions the week before. Obviously, if the Broncos use Harvey more, then JK Dobbins will be used less and is a sit for Week 6. Dobbins should see a reduced workload, and the carries he does get will likely be inefficient, given the matchup.
