Strengths
When looking at Jeremiyah Love as a prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft, it is hard not to be excited about watching him at the next level. Love’s top trait is his ability to break a run for a touchdown from anywhere on the field. He has home run speed, as shown by his NFL Combine performance, and was rarely caught throughout his college career. On top of the speed, Love’s balance to shake off would-be tacklers helps if picked to a team with a weak offensive line.
While Love’s rushing ability is at the top in this year’s draft, one thing that jumps off the page is his ability to take care of the ball. In 433 rushing attempts over his three-year career at Notre Dame, Love never fumbled. Love has also shown a penchant for working in the receiving game, bringing in 63 receptions over those three seasons.
Weaknesses
As is the case with all young running backs in the NFL, evolving his game to the big leagues quickly will be key to his early success. Getting up to speed with faster defenders and more exotic defenses oftentimes hold the development of many running backs. Nitpicking at Love, improving his pass blocking will be key to keep him on the field for the majority of offensive snaps.
In regard to being the workhorse back that we all believe Love can be, beefing up his 212-pound frame would help the cause.
Jeremiyah Love Fantasy Football Outlook
Love’s 2026 Value
From the standpoint of the backfield he joins, it’s hard to argue that Jeremiyah Love could have landed in a worse situation. The Cardinals were beyond deep at running back entering the draft, with James Conner, Trey Benson and Bam Knight having already been joined by free agent signee Tyler Allgeier this offseason.
With that being said, one has to believe that Love will instantly be Arizona’s top option at the position given the draft capital they used on him. Even if that is the case, Conner and Allgeier will still be involved. Thus, projecting much more than an RB2-type season for Love in 2026 might be wishful thinking.
Jeremiyah Love Dynasty Fantasy Football Value
Despite the horrendous landing spot as far as the 2026 season is concerned, Love remains the clear-cut 1.01 option in dynasty rookie drafts. Conner is likely nearing the end of his career, especially coming off the serious injury he suffered a year ago. In addition, the Cardinals choosing to draft Love all but guarantees that Benson will be traded at some point. Add it all up and this backfield should be Love’s to command in the years to come.
