The Cleveland Browns did not have the season they were hoping to have, after performing well in 2020. They ended up going 8-9 and missing the playoffs. The Browns need to do something to fix their problems and get back to the playoffs.
Here are three things the Cleveland Browns must address during the 2022 NFL Offseason if they want to get back to the playoffs.
3 Things the Cleveland Browns Must Address in the 2022 NFL Offseason
1. Get Baker Mayfield Back to his 2020 Form
Baker Mayfield had a good 2020 season and led the Cleveland Browns to the playoffs. Mayfield was hit or miss in 2021. He missed a lot of his throws and only had a completion rate of 60.5%. Mayfield has to do better if the Browns are going to do anything in the AFC with him under center. He may need to work with a QB coach who will help him with his throwing motion.
2. Protect the RB Room at All Costs
Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt are some of the best RBs in the NFL. D’Ernest Johnson turned out to be a nice surprise for the Browns. Hunt and Chubb are the two-headed monsters of the Browns, though. They ranked fourth in the NFL in rushing, with 24,71 yards. They will be back, unlike D’Ernest Johnson. Johnson will probably sign elsewhere. Hunt and Chubb need to carry this team.
3. Trust the Process
The Cleveland Browns were in the hunt in the 2020 playoffs and had a good start this season. The bottom fell out after losing to the Las Vegas Raiders. That started a three-game slide for the Browns. The Browns have waited years to have a trip to the Super Bowl and they are a few pieces away from actually getting there.
