The Chicago Bears had a rough 2021 season. Matt Nagy did not help this team win and was fired after the season. The Bears hired Matt Eberflus to change the culture surrounding the Bears. Justin Fields did not have the best rookie season when he was on the field, but you would expect that for him. The Bears can help right the ship a little bit this offseason.

3 Things the Chicago Bears Must Address in the 2022 NFL Offseason

1. Actually Gameplan Plays for Justin Fields

One of the problems with the Chicago Bears last season is that they did not make plays for Justin Fields. If you are an offensive play-caller in the NFL, then you need to have plays that utilize your QB’s strengths. Matt Nagy did not do that. Justin Fields is the future of the Bears and, by not giving him the plays for him, you are just wasting his young career.

2. Give Justin Fields Some Help

Fields did not have a great WR last year. Allen Robinson, the best of the bunch he had, probably will not be brought back for the 2022 season. Darnell Mooney came out of nowhere to help the Bears. Besides him and a developing Cole Kmet, the WR/TE group isn’t there. The RB room is good with Tarik Cohen, David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert. The Bears do not have a first-round pick this year, as it was traded to the Giants, but they do have some late picks and $28 million in the cap to play with.

3. Lock up and Never Play the “Double Doink” Again

Now that Matt Nagy is gone, the Bears need to do their best to make sure the “Double Doink” is never played again. That video has haunted so many Bears fans and it is time to put that behind them so it doesn’t affect their future. It happened four years ago now, so it is time to put it away and forget about it. Eagles fans if you watch this that’s kind of sad, they were that close to losing that game.
