After starting last season slow, the San Francisco 49ers made some noise in the playoffs and nearly went on a run. While there isn’t a first-round 49ers draft pick this season, due to trading up to get Trey Lance last year, the 49ers still have draft assets to sign some good players. The 49ers have also been rumored to be shopping a couple of players, which could return more draft picks for this season.

Outside of the big signing of Charvarius Ward, it has been a relatively quiet NFL Free Agency for the 49ers. This means there are still plenty of holes on the depth chart for them to fill.

Let’s take a look at the full list of 2022 49ers draft picks. We will also review the San Francisco 49ers draft needs and free agency signings.

    San Francisco 49ers Draft Needs

    Offensive Guard

The 49ers lost Laken Tomlinson in free agency, leaving San Francisco with a need at both offensive guard positions. Drafting a lineman with their first draft pick is very likely and should be treated as the top overall need for this team right now.

    Edge Rusher

This 49ers defense needs to get pressure with their front four for this defense to have success. Arden Key is currently still a free agent, so it’s possible he returns to the team. Regardless, this is still a hole that will need to be filled this offseason. Luckily, this draft class is deep with both offensive line and edge-rushing talent.

    Defensive Tackle

D.J. Jones left the 49ers to join the Broncos in NFL Free Agency, leaving a vacancy in the defensive line room. Again, the 49ers need their front four to be solid for this defense to work. On top of that, there are talented running games in the division, so San Francisco must be able to top the run with their big guys up front.
