Fantasy football Week 4 of the 2021-22 NFL season is almost in the books, with even more upsets, high-scoring games and elite fantasy performances. There were some monster Week 4 fantasy football performances, with some new and unfamiliar names appearing among the top.
Let’s check out the top NFL Week 4 fantasy football performances from Sunday across all positions. This week’s notable performers include Jared Goff, Austin Ekeler, Justin Jefferson and T.J. Hockenson.
Top Week 4 Fantasy Football QBs
Jared Goff Fantasy Stats
Stats: 378 yards, 4 TDs, 1 INT, 2 2PT
Fantasy Points: 33.22 (QB1)
Man, that Seahawks-Lions game was full of action-packed plays and plenty of scoring. Jared Goff has been awesome in fantasy football so far, simply because the Detroit Lions are always scoring. It’s impressive Goff was able to put together a solid performance without his two top wide receivers, but he was able to get it going with T.J. Hockenson early. In a game that was expected to have low-level QB play, football fans and Jared Goff fantasy football owners certainly enjoyed this one.
Geno Smith Fantasy Stats
Stats: 369 total yards, 3 total TDs
Fantasy Points: 31.7 (QB2)
On the other side of the ball in the Seahawks-Lions game was generational talent Geno Smith. After his impressive-looking Week 1 performance against Denver, Smith became a commodity and continued the discussions with another great week. He’s able to find his talented receivers in the passing game, but he was also able to use his legs when necessary. This game was way too high-scoring and action-packed to not appreciate it. Who would’ve thought Geno Smith and Jared Goff would top the list for fantasy points?
Top Week 4 Fantasy Football RBs
Austin Ekeler Fantasy Stats
Stats: 13 carries, 6 receptions, 109 total yards, 3 total TDs
Fantasy Points: 34.9 (RB1)
Austin Ekeler finally scored a touchdown! Well, he did it three times actually. The Austin Ekeler fantasy football truthers were likely starting to lose their minds through three weeks, but they were rewarded with easily the best fantasy performance out of all running backs. The Los Angeles Chargers offense has been frustrating for fantasy managers this year as a whole, but this game makes up for it. Austin Ekeler fantasy football owners can only hope he builds off this strong performance and looks like 2021 Ekeler.
Miles Sanders Fantasy Stats
Stats: 27 carries, 134 yards, 2 TDs
Fantasy Points: 29.6 (RB3)
The Philadelphia Eagles are the only undefeated team still through four weeks. It looked like the game would be high-scoring early, but it slowed down, resulting in plenty of carries for Miles Sanders. Sanders has always been heavily regarded by the Eagles but hasn’t been able to stay healthy. He looks very good this season and as long as Jalen Hurts can keep up the passing game, Sanders should benefit heavily and post more fantasy performances like this more often.
Top Week 4 Fantasy Football WRs
Justin Jefferson Fantasy Stats
Stats: 10 receptions, 147 yards, 1 rushing TD
Fantasy Points: 31.0 (WR1)
After back-to-back quiet performances, Justin Jefferson returned to his normal self, posting a 30-point fantasy football performance. This is his second time finishing as the WR1, and it’s clear he is one of the best to do it right now. The Minnesota Vikings seem out-of-sorts right now, but once they figure it out on offense, Jefferson will start posting 30+ points consistently because no one can keep up with him and his volume.
Mike Evans Fantasy Stats
Stats: 8 receptions, 103 yards, 2 TDs
Fantasy Points: 30.3 (WR2)
It was no surprise to finally see the Tom Brady-Mike Evans connection in full force. Evans has these games where he dominates and others where he puts up duds. He’ll always be Brady’s go-to red zone target, which translates into a ton of touchdowns. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are now 2-2 and Brady won’t stand for that, so the offense should figure it out over time. This will involve Evans getting his regular volume as the WR1 option. He likely won a few fantasy managers’ matchups in fantasy football Week 4.
Top Week 4 Fantasy Football TEs
T.J Hockenson Fantasy Stats
Stats: 8 receptions, 179 yards, 2 TDs, 1 2PT
Fantasy Points: 39.9 (TE1)
With the two starting wide receivers injured for the Lions, this T.J. Hockenson breakout game was to be expected. Jared Goff threw his way all game long and towards the end of the game, Seattle seemed to just stop guarding him. This will easily be one of the top tight end performances all season, and the T.J. Hockenson fantasy football owners that stuck with him have to be smiling right now. If injuries continue to plague the offense, Hockenson will see consistent volume.
Mo Alie-Cox Fantasy Stats
Stats: 6 receptions, 85 yards, 2 TDs
Fantasy Points: 26.5 (TE2)
As bad as the Indianapolis Colts have looked this season, some new player emerges every game. This week it was Mo Alie-Cox. He’s been known to be their go-to red zone target, but Matt Ryan seems to trust him quite a bit, finding him twice in the end zone. He surely wouldn’t be a legitimate fantasy option because he is so touchdown-dependent, but it’s always refreshing to see new names top the fantasy point totals at the end of a wild day of football.
Top Week 4 Fantasy Football D/ST and K
Philadelphia Eagles DEF Fantasy Stats
Stats: 4 sacks, 1 INT, 4 FUM REC
Fantasy Points: 17.0 (tied with NYG)
Greg Joseph Fantasy Stats
Stats: 5 FG Made, 1 PAT Made
Fantasy Points: 12.0
