Ousmane Dieng Draft Profile
Strengths
Even though Ousmane Dieng is a bit of a mystery and risk in this draft, his 6-9, 185-pound frame should be very intriguing for rebuilding teams. As a big guy, Dieng has shown the ability to handle the ball with care and dribble around bigger defenders. With handling the ball, Dieng has a good feel of the court, making him a potential playmaker and facilitator. The most intriguing thing about Dieng is that it feels like he is so raw, that if he gets put into the right position, he could thrive. Dieng’s speed has become a major talking point as he can push the ball in transition, quickly, or run the wing on the fast break with much success.
Weaknesses
Dieng’s three-point shooting is the biggest concern in his game. His poor shooting numbers helped to contribute to why he has been sliding on mock drafts lately. While some teams may take a risk on his raw talent, it is a risk. You would have to imagine that a team, who is a couple of pieces away from competing will not take the time to develop Dieng. Scoring will be the major reason why Dieng may fall in this draft.
