Max Abmas Highlights
Max Abmas NBA Draft Profile
Strengths
A hero during Oral Roberts’ Cinderella run to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16, Max Abmas was putting together a phenomenal final season in college long before March. He led all Division I players in scoring on the year averaging over 24 points per game. His performance in the tournament only boosted his 2021 NBA Draft stock. Abmas’ shooting range is virtually unlimited. His 3-point shooting will undoubtedly help him carve out a niche in the NBA. Abmas is also a solid all-around athlete and a gifted basketball playmaker.
Weaknesses
While Abmas has a terrific shooting stroke and percentages, there is some concern that he may be too focused on scoring. He was known to jack some poor percentage shots in college and the ball-dominant nature of his game won’t find him much success against pro defenders. Abmas will also need to improve at the defensive end. Of course, his small size is another concern. He was dwarfed in college and that discrepancy will only grow at the NBA level.
Pro Comparison
Smaller Stephen Curry
