Joe Alt Scouting Report

Strengths

Professional sports run in his family, as his dad was a Pro Bowl lineman and his brother was in the NHL. Joe Alt is a mountain of a man whose athleticism is incredible. Truly, he’s a unicorn, and that’s why he’s one of the top players in the draft and looked at as a can’t-miss player. Alt is a smart player with strong technique, great footwork and finishes well.

Weaknesses

Alt is a massive human, but he can overextend towards defenders, getting off-balance. It’s also a bit natural with someone who’s this big, but he bends too much at the waist and has a high center of gravity.

What to Expect From Joe Alt in 2024

Joe Alt is an absolute unicorn. It makes no sense how well he can move given his size. Obviously, he’s a clear Day 1 starter. As with all rookie offensive linemen, he will “get got” by some of the elite edge rushers early in his career, but look for him to really find his stride midseason. He will move bodies in the running game and keep the QB clean when they drop back to pass. Helluva pick right here.
