Omarion Hampton NFL Draft Landing Spots and Projection

The 2025 NFL Draft class may not have the most blue chip players, but it is damn deep at the running back position. Not only is the depth at the position vast, but there are several players expected to be drafted in the first two rounds. The same can be said of the Omarion Hampton NFL Draft projection.

In fact, the North Carolina running back is projected to be drafted in the first round. Despite being a power running back, Hampton has soft hands. He also has the makings to be a true three-down running back. With all of this in mind, here are three Omarion Hampton NFL Draft landing spots on Thursday.

Omarion Hampton NFL Draft Landing Spots and Projection

Omarion Hampton
Position: RB
Height:
 6’0″
Weight: 220 lbs
Age:
 21
College: North Carolina Tar Heels

Denver Broncos

It appears the most likely Omarion Hampton NFL Draft landing spot is with the Denver Broncos. In fact, this is where I projected him to go. Don’t want to believe me? Sean Payton’s daughter projected the same.

The Broncos need a featured running back, as they have not addressed the position this offseason at all. Hampton is a powerful runner, but he can also pass protect. He has caught the ball and run routes as well. This definitely sounds like a “Sean Payton guy.”

The Broncos have also explored the possibility of trading up. This appears to be either for a wide receiver or Hampton. Teteiroa McMillan will not vibe with Payton, so it feels like the UNC running back is the man.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers traded for DK Metcalf. Now, they finally have that feared wide receiver duo again, pairing him with George Pickens. The team has improved the offensive line over the past several seasons, as well as brought in a talented offensive coordinator, especially with the running game, in Arthur Smith. Aaron Rodgers is likely to play quarterback, so now the only missing piece is at running back.

Najee Harris has been an average, yet underwhelming, performer for several seasons. He has now headed west, leaving many snaps and carries open for a new featured running back. Smith has had plenty of success calling an offense with a big, talented running back in the past (Derrick Henry), and the Steelers may look to replicate that success with Omarion Hampton.

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys had a little bit of success with Rico Dowdle last season, but even he is low longer in Dallas. The Cowboys could really use a running back, and a running game in general, to lean on. Their offensive line is the larger issue, especially with the retirement of Zack Martin. However, it would not be surprising to see Jerry Jones fall in love with a skill position player instead of shoring up the offensive line. It’s a classic “cart before the horse” situation.
