Strengths
While JT Thor is still a very raw 2021 NBA Draft prospect, he showed plenty of flashes both in college and at the combine. His calling card, for the time being, is defense. Thor is excellent both on and off the ball as a defender. He has great lateral quickness, moves his feet well and recovers quickly on shooters. In addition, his 7’3” wingspan comes in handy as a timely shot-blocker. Thor has an explosive vertical leap and runs the floor well. His jump shot offers plenty of potential. With the proper NBA tutelage, he could very well become an effective two-way player.
Weaknesses
While potential is nice, Thor lacks any sort of consistency as an offensive player coming into the NBA Draft. His three-point shooting was inconsistent in college. Another issue that teams will have to consider is Thor’s propensity to turn the ball over. His lack of confidence on the offensive end led to a number of poor decisions and intercepted passes.
